Sasuke's P.O.V
He just lay there, eyes staring blankly up towards the dark sky. He still had that wonderfully large smile. He had always smiled, even when he was hurting deep down, he smiled. I lifted his heavy body to mine and hugged it close. He still smelled like ramen, death hadn't taken that yet. His blonde hair tickled my chin as i cryed for him. The gods, or lack there of, must be crying too because the sky opened up and it started to pour on us.
I hardly noticed the freezing drops that fell on me as I hugged him. I remembered everything we had done together. How he held my hand and squeezed it constantly just so he was sure I was really there. It wouldn't bother me. He knew I wouldn't leave him. He knew I loved himmore than anything else. And he loved me right till the very end. He would have died for me. Ironic how things work out sometimes. I picked a fight with the wrong guy and he had to save me or it would have been him hugging my limp form.
Why did I have to be so stupid and let myself lose the one thing that mattered most to me in this world? Why did I have to go and get him killed? Why must I be so stupid?
I was crying so hard, I didn't even notice the figure walk up behind me with his kunai, ready to strike. I only noticed when the cool metal cut my throat and I fell. I fell holding Naruto close and only llossening my grip when my body finally gave up and my shallow breathing stopped.
Normal P.O.V
Sasuke sat up suddenly, breathing heavy and fast. Vaugely aware that he was drenched in a cold sweat, he looked over toward where Naruto lay curled into a tight ball.
He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. "It was just a dream." he told himself, laying back down and wrping his arms around Naruto. "It was just a dream." he told himself again as he closed his eyes only to have them snap open again. All he could see was Naruto's limp, blood soaked form lying on the ground.
He felt the tears well up in his eyes again. He tried to blink them back but they fell anyway, landing on Naruto's cheek. The blonde stirred slightly before opening his eyes slowly. "Sasuke? Watr you doin' up this early? Are. . . are you crying? What happened? Whats wrong?" he asked worry apparent in his voice.
"Oh. . . umm. . .It was nothing. J-just a bad dream. Don't worry about it." Sasuke said, his voice shaking slightly. Naruto reached up and wiped away Sasuke's tears. "It not nothing so I will worry about it. It takes a lot to make you cry so what was that dream about?" Naruto asked, turning over and pulling Sasuke to his chest. He kissed his forehead and smiled down at him, though worry was still apparent in his wonderfully blue eyes.
Sasuke smiled and wiped hid eyes. "Come on, Sasuke, just tell me. You'll feel better oncce you tell me. Please?" Naruto begged, pouting a little. "Fine, but only because your cute." he said pouting as well. "I have no clue where I was but I was walking down a street and-and when I g-got to the e-end I-I saw y-you lying on t-the floor d-dead." he said tears spilling from his onyx eyes once again. He burried his face in Naruto's chest, trying to stop himself from crying.
Naruto lifted Sasuke's chin so his black eyes were looking into his blue ones. "Don't worry. I won't leave you. Never." he said wiping a tear from Sasuke's eye. "It was just a dream. Just a stupid dream." He kissed him and pulled him closer to his chest. Sasuke closed his eyes and this time he didn't see Naruto's dead body. This time he saw Naruto smiling at him. Just smiling. And that meant the world to him.
