Kikimo and Mortis
Note: These characters do not belong to me. They belong to my good friend, Keri Doughtery. Without any further ado, on with the story.
The weather was looking bad as it is. That didn't seem to cheer the little girl up though. 'Why did the weatherman bother calling for showers?' She thought angrily as she sat on the sidewalk. The dark clouds had an angry look as they casted the rain. Her dark brown hair and her light purple eyes gave off a soft glow. She wore long blue jeans and a white shirt with a matching pair of shoes. She hoped that the day wouldn't get any worse.
When she had gotten home from school the next day, she got pushed down when she heard, "You stink!
"Take a shower!" She looked behind her to see some children older than her as she backed away in fear. Her mother shouted, "You brats leave her alone!" The children ran away as she realized that was the only time she would be saved. Her mother looked out for her child but she had a short temper and no one would want to mess with her wrath. She entered her home as she quietly went to her room so she wouldn't bother her mom right now. She had done her homework and ate her dinner in silence. She hoped tomorrow would be a different day.
A shadow of a black wolf circled around her home as it mumbled, "This must be her home."
"Our master will be here soon. Tomorrow hopefully." The wolf gave a low growl as the night crept into the next day.
It was the same thing that day. However, some days do change for the better. When Kikimo sat down on her doorstep, two shadows appeared before her. It was the same children from before as she stood up; only to be pushed down again. Before she could feel anything else, startled gasps escaped their lips as a deep yet dark voice bellowed, "The girl has done nothing to you two. Leave her be."
The two boys nodded their heads numbly as they were lowered to the ground and they walked away in confusion. Kikimo waited for something to happen like a sneak attack but instead a soft whisper startled her. "Are you alright?" Was the question as she looked behind her to see a dark figure. The figure was deathly pale with black hair and onyx eyes. His attire was entirely black. A black leather jacket was over a light black shirt and he wore black pants with matching shoes. He knelt down as he extended his hand and she replied, "I'm ok."
"That's good." The black wolf was by his side as two different shadows approached him.
He sighed in frustration as he heard, "What are you doing here?"
"Did you come here to cause more trouble?" His eyes narrowed as he stood up and faced them. He was having a bad day as it is. He had gotten into trouble with some of his friends and now they were beyond mad. He hissed, "I didn't know I had stepped into No Man's Land. I'm not in the mood right now."
"Well too bad. We're about to make your day worse."
"Great." He dodged several punches as a startled scream caught his attention. One of the men had the little girl hostage and he whispered, "It's a bad dream." He punched the man in the face as he scooped the little girl into his arms and set his wolf on them. If it was an army, he could've summoned his hounds but this wasn't necessary. When the two men were gone, he set the little girl down and said, "I've been rude. My name is Mortis."
"My name is Kikimo."
That was the beginning of their partnership together.
THE END?
