I have no clue what made me decide to write Percy Jackson after literal years of not having anything to do with the story/characters… but here we go. Sorry if anything is wrong/bad due to forgetfulness and such.

Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson

And it's all an adventure

Sometimes he has to remind himself that her eyes are just eyes. They're only eyes, and yet they somehow manage to be much more at the same time. When she smiles, her eyes turn into the ocean (and he should know that they aren't – this woman is something he can't and would never want to control). They are deep and endless and unrestrained.

"Are you admiring me again?"

Her voice is that of a goddess, and it's such a terrible shame that she isn't one and never will be one. The taunt is gentle yet mischievous as she grins up at him from her position in the water. Yes, he is admiring her from the dock. She is beautiful in a way that he's only ever seen a few times, beautiful in a way that Aphrodite herself would respect. She is beautiful in a way that he could never hope to deserve, beautiful in a way that he knows he should've kept his distance.

Unfortunately, she's also as impulsive as she is beautiful, because in his haze of thoughts he manages to just barely process her hand in his. He returns to full awareness as the familiar embrace of the water surrounds him. The peace lasts only a moment before it is shattered again, this time by her lips on his. Her smile is playful and so the kiss is as well. And while he could remain in this moment for an eternity, she must come up for air.

Her laughter is music as she regains her composure. "Honestly, you think far much more than is healthy. Someone will have to keep you awake and alert when you start to get lost." Here in the sea, it's as if she is the one in her domain rather than the other way around. She's familiar with the ocean in a way that is rare now among humans. It's beautiful.

Reality is gone, banished from thought by her mere presence and he allows himself to be swept up once more in the hurricane that is Sally Jackson. They both know that their time is limited to the summer, to this island. It isn't the first time he wonders why this amazing woman is utterly unconcerned about their restrictions. He's asked before, but she'd only smiled and went on about 'living in the moment.' It's a refreshing concept, to not worry about what has been or will be, to only be confined to what is. It's a freedom that he relishes in. For a moment he speculates that maybe this was her allure, but again she pulls him from his thoughts.

Even though they both know how this story will end, together they swim under the light of the moon, ignoring the world for a little longer.

I also don't know why Sally/Poseidon is what I decided to write after my PJO/HOO hiatus but oh well. I'm glad that I had the idea though because I never fully looked into their romance before and now I'm seeing a lot of cool potential so I guess I found a new otp. it's also really short but oh well. hopefully more sally/poseidon coming at you bc they're a lot cuter than I ever realized
