Mikhail wasn't stupid and he knew that a relationship with Lili wasn't all flowers and sunshine.
A relationship with Lili Zanotto was more like a game of russian roulette: you knew it was going to end eventually, it was going to hurt like hell and even if you survived, it left you broken. You know it had to come to an end, but you had absolutely no idea when. But until then it was the most thrilling and intoxicating time you would ever have.
Mikhail thought he would be a coward and a fool to miss out on this experience.
