Hey, hey, hey guess what?! It's a fanfiction that's not sad! Yay me! So I hope you enjoy and have fun reading. (Okay for some reason this freaked out on my and had all this weird writing and stuff so re-posting).

Michael led the way; through twisting paths, over gaping chasms and in between the leaves of enormous forests. He was silent and his eyes focused forward, never glancing back to check that his company was following; always having faith that they were there, shadowing his steps. Michael climbed up steps, worn and covered with a light down of green moss that kept the marble slippery and dangerous. The stairs curled around a spire of rock whose tip vanished into the soft, fluffy white clouds. The Archangel made it to the top where the stairs suddenly cut off to a plateau of the spire, giving the immortal a view in every direction, as far as his eagle-eyesight could make out.

Michael stepped to the edge of the flat rock, allowing his company to stand beside him. Finally the Archangel turned to gift his company with his gaze. It was the fourth Archangel in God's court; Heaven's trickiest of them all. Gabriel.

Michael watched his little brother stare out over the vast expanses, the wisps of cloud gone; taking in the lush greens, the burning browns and the peaceful blues. "What is this Michael?" He turned to the other Archangel, a question in his eyes. Michael smiled gently and put one arm around Gabriel's shoulders, swinging the other wide to encompass everything they saw before them.

"Look little brother," Michael leaned in and spoke; his voice humble and just, "Everything the light touches is our kingdom." He stood tall, shoulders back and head tilted proudly as Gabriel took in the sights.

The young Archangel tilted his head inquiringly, gesturing to a shade of darkness far into the distance; out of place amongst the bright beauty of the landscape. "What about that shadowy part, Michael?" He looked up into his big brother's now concern-filled eyes.

"That's Earth, Gabriel. You must never go there!" Michael's voice was urgent and low, begging his brother to heed his warning-filled words with caution. Gabriel turned back to look at the darkened patch that so marred the view and his whole body buzzed with curiosity. But his elder brother had forbidden him to go there and so the Archangel quelled the feeling, nodding his head in silent agreement before following Michael back down the stairs and on to God's Halls.

Gabriel turned, swirling the cup of expensive alcohol in one hand while pondering. "Something's missing…" He frowned lightly, looking around intently at his abode; a simple room that's main attraction was the table piled high with sweets and rich delicacies. A small dog was standing on a chair, his front pairs on the table as he ate at some food, greedily taking in the meal.

Gabriel's face light up and he snapped his fingers. Around him two beautiful women wearing lingerie appeared and proceeded to hand feed him the chocolates that littered the table.

Gabriel smiled and somewhere in Heaven Michael sighed, shaking his head slightly as he turned away, hand pressed to his face in defeat and weariness. "I failed."
