First Meeting
It was a hot summer day and there was a light breeze that made everything seem peaceful and quaint. But it was actually the exact opposite. She was there, Enraiha in hand, slashing at the Yoma with all her might. She was winning, of course, and finally finished the battle with one last fiery hit and the beast was down for the count. She smiled confidently and held her head high, she rejoined her friends as they walked to the small cake shop where she engorged herself in cake. That day was the first time she had ever defeated a Yoma by herself, and she was only eight years old. Blessed with the magic of fire, and cursed with a short temper, she was bound to be the next head of the Kannagi household. She had bright beaming crimson eyes that shown with determination to take down any obstacle that stood in her way, and that afternoon, it was me. My father always wanted me to train with fire magic, but I was never given the talent or the ability to posses such a thing. So, I was tormented and that day I was scheduled to duke it out with her, in hand-to-hand combat, of course, she took me down with one blow. Her confidence was raging again and she wore a large, victory grin sprawled across her face. My father cursed me, insulted me, and humiliated me. But she looked over at me with concerned eyes; she stretched out her small hand and helped me up.
"You just let me know whenever you want to practice, 'kay?"
She looked at me with those innocent eyes, I knew she meant every word of it, and I didn't feel pity, or like someone was taking advantage of my weakness. She was sincere and that's when I knew she was special.
"Ayano."
I whisper her name as I watch her flowing red hair fly about in whisks at the gesture of my hand, causing her hair to flow as she walked. She was even lovelier than that first meeting we had, and now it was time to become reacquainted.
