June 10, Unified Year 1930

HQ, Central Empire

A young woman with messy blonde hair and electric blue eyes stretched her arms out above her head before slipping out of bed. Her normal morning routine involved listening to the morning radio while she got ready, but she opted out of that this morning so as not to wake the brunette woman in her bed.

She threw on her dress uniform, which bore four-star general insignia and a name plate, inscribed with the name "Degurechaff". General Tanya von Degurechaff had grown into a beautiful young woman, alongside her career in the military. Now seventeen years old, she stood at five feet, three inches.

She left all that to her fiancee, Viktoriya, who she would sometimes allow to doll her up. Exclusively in private, of course. Ready to go, Tanya leaned down to give her fiancee a gentle peck on the cheek, shouldered her new ZH-29 magic rifle, then left. Despite her fame, fortune, and status, Tanya never moved out of the standard officer dorms in Central. To ease the tensions of the field officers that lived in the dorm, she had effected a special exception to military etiquette so that they didn't have to constantly mind her presence in the dorm. Of course, she did take some liberties by having her ex-military fiancee living in the dorm with her.

Her job didn't entail much since Tanya had near single-handedly orchestrated the Empire victory in the Great War, and been eventually promoted to General. Praise meritocracy. She had acquired many titles over time. First, White Silver, then the Devil of the Rhine in the early stages of the war. Her most recent were the Goddess of War and the Goddess of Victory. Some cults had sprung up in the wake of the war. Tanya supposed it was natural, but she made sure to inform that media that she was not, in fact, a deity.

As far as the bureaucracy, Tanya had recently had a personal dinner with the Emperor himself to discuss the future. Said future involved Tanya becoming the Empress of what was now the United World Empire. Life was sweet at the top.

Tanya was actually on her way there, when time froze. Tanya, with practiced ease, drew her ZH-29 magic rifle and leveled it, eye to the sight. She whipped it around. The street was empty. There appeared to be no people or objects around from her mortal enemy to use as a conduit for communicating. A slight sound. Feet on pavement. She turned 180 degrees without hesitation.

An elderly male figure, cloaked in middle-eastern fatigues stood before her, glaring at her with a cold gaze.

"Not only is there no end to your blasphemy, but no limit." The voice seemed to echo all around.

"Eh!? Finally showing yourself after all this time are you, Being X!?"

"Not only have you remained resolute in failing to worship me. You have even brought down the world with you. Made a world population take you as their god before me. You have even committed sodomy!" Tanya could sense the wrath. But she could care less.

"Lest you have forgotten, Being X, but I was a full grown man before you brought me, and gave me a sex change without my consent. Naturally, I'm still attracted to women as though I were still a man. You're the one who treated killing people in video games as a thought crime! So the mere act of liking a man as a man would have been the same thing, wouldn't it?!"

"Your insolence is truly irredeemable! I think it's high time you experience true suffering!"

Tanya staggered. What?

"It would seem your dorm sprung a gas leak. How unfortunate."

"What!?"

Looking over Being X's shoulder at the dorm she had just come from, she got to witness it explode. That would mean.

"Visha!" Tanya screamed out. But she knew it was too late. Her hold on the rifle slacked, and it fell by her side as her head dropped, and her eyes were shadowed over by her hair and beaked hat.

"This will be your final warning, blasphemer!"

Somewhere, deep inside, Tanya knew it was a possibility when she got involved with Viktoriya. She had figured it a win-win situation at the time. She got love, and she also got bait for Being X. But now.

"What is this!?" Being X tried to leave the mortal phase-shift that he had created to contact Tanya, but it was in vain. He looked around him to see that the environment was surrounded by complicated magic formula. Recognizing what would be the cause, his eyes refocused on Tanya, who had shed but a single tear, and her mouth twisted in a manic grin. She raised her head, and for the first time in all of existence, Being X knew fear. "What have you done!? I am God! No mortal can contain me!"

"Being X. Those whose prayers you have squandered for power are diminished in this realm. I am the greatest deity to this world now. I who have united humanity, and brought it prosperity. Now, after all this time, I had been willing to let go of my animosity for you, and just live happily with my wife." Tanya grimaced as she felt her soul build up in pent up frustration and magical might. "But now, there will be no continued existence for you. I, General Tanya von Degurechaff, the Goddess of War and Victory, and the Greater Uniter of all humanity, judge you, Being X, the ultimate sin of this realm."

"Arrogance! You bear no such power!" But he knew better. The world's mana core had activated. The conditions for the creation of an Old Deus had been met, and the once-human before him was ascending. He raised his hand. "Heavenly Sm-" Tanya was already upon him, her eyes glowing red in her manic state as she charged the bayonet on her magic rifle with the world's mana. Being X panicked. He needed somewhere where the universal laws would protect him!

The world flashed as her bayonet buried itself into Being X's heart, but they were now in the upper atmosphere of an unknown world. Tanya grinned as her eyes and Elinium Type 95 computation orb glowed a sickly yellow color. Being X's eyes widened in fear as he realized what was about to happen. Tanya was going to use the combination of her divine artifact and miracle with her recently ascended power to finish him.

"No! I can not die! Not to you!"

"I wont kill you. I will erase your very soul! My people pray for my presence on the field of battle! They wish for absolute victory against my foes! So as they pray, my will shall be done!"

A magic formula erupted from the piercing wound in Being X's chest, and coated his figure, before dissolving him into nothingness, erasing his very soul from the plane of existence.

Tanya allowed herself to calm down as she continued to plummet into the strange planet. She allowed herself to observe her surroundings, and noticed all the enormously tall chess pieces that marked the planet. What kind of place was this? The world's mana she had before had filtered out of her, likely having left the world the mana originated from causing her to lose the god-like status she had acquired. That's fine, she still had the greatest reserves of mana ever recorded. More than enough to escape this dangerous scenario of performing what seemed to be an orbital re-entry.

With the activation of a single core of her computation orb, she initiated the flight formula, and used another core to initiate her oxygen generation formula. Before long, she had safely descended to solid earth.

She allowed herself a couple moments to catch her breath before collapsing. The brief series of events catching up to her as she allowed herself to properly grieve the death of her fiancee.

Some distance away, the "One True God" of Disboard, Tet, had finished welcoming and seeing off the newest additions to his world. However, he sensed a nearby anomaly occur and knew. An Old Deus had invaded his world, and just as quickly left it. But there was a new mortal. Time to go meet them!

Possible future scenes of this story.

"I have your cheating recorded, elf. So, here's the deal. You will challenge me to a game, where you will lose on purpose, and give me your covenant rights. Or, I'll just go and ruin your little friend's life with this evidence, and she'll never become king. How about it?"

Tanya kicked the doors open to the cathedral being used for the match to determine the next King of Imanity, dragging a beat-up elf by their blonde hair, and toying with a dimly glowing chess piece between her teeth. She dropped the body after she had made her presence known to the occupants of the room. Filching the chess piece from her mouth, she made her declaration. "My sincerest apologies, however, it appears you will need to use physical force to continue moving your over-sized chess pieces. Technical errors on the part of whatever enabled them to move autonomously, I presume." Tanya's grin turned malicious as she ground her boot into the head of the unconscious elf.

"I don't believe you understand, Blank." Tanya used air-quotes when she said their name, though something in the back of her mind found the name familiar, from way back in the days when she would occasionally kick back with an FPS game as a salaryman. "I'm not about to allow some NEETs to rule the remains of humanity unchecked!" The existence of useless people would never not piss her off.

"How very curious, indeed! A human able to perform magic on par with the Flugel! I absolutely must study you!" All Tanya could think of was 'this thing is off it's rocker.'

"You are going to allow me to compete on humanity's team, Blank. This isn't negotiable."

Izuna and Tanya stood across from eachother in what appeared to be modern Tokyo. Sora had been saying something about a plan, but really, he didn't know the truth about the extents of her power. She would let them plan. No mutt was going to defeat her! Tanya's eyes and computation orb began to glow a bright yellow, her grin turning downright evil as she began to process all the ways she could defeat the animal in front of her. Izuna, recognizing what was, without a doubt, had to be the greatest threat she would ever know, allowed her blood to run wild. She wasn't even sure if her blood break would be enough.

Author's Afterward

Thanks to everyone who has read this! I've been sitting on this idea for a while now. I've consumed pretty much every available form of media for both Saga of Tanya the Evil and No Game No Life at this point, and have a really solid understanding of their divinity systems and worlds. Turns out, they are extremely compatible! In Zero, Tet comments that Disboard has no reincarnation system when Riku and Schwi die. Eventually, those two are reincarnated in "our" world as Sora and Shiro, or "Blank". Tet retrieves them from that world, and brings them back into Disboard, despite them no knowing about their past lives. Tanya was a salaryman of "our" world, from the same place as Blank. He was killed and reincarnated by Being X (who is confirmed to be one of many Deus in the light novels) into an alternate reality where humans are able to utilize magic. In volume six of the NGNL light novels, we learn about the conditions for creating a new Old Deus. Based on that, if Tanya resumes her unnatural aptitude for war in her alternate reality, it was fully possible she could acquire the status of an Old Deus, and kill "God" or Being X. Tanya would be representing the dark side of humanity in this story, while also going for the same victory condition as Blank. She's a pragmatist, after all.

I'm not sure if this story would really take, honestly. That's why this is only a teaser / pilot chapter. If you're interested in seeing how this story, fully fleshed out, would go, please leave a review. Tell me any thoughts you have, as well as hopes. If it's popular enough, I'll start the process of writing a proper full-length story.
