I play my piano softly as I wait for Magnus to return home. It's well past noon, the sun is going down, Chairman Meow is sitting beside me on the piano bench-he seems to like when I play softly like this.
As I play I think of a song I heard a long time a, a sad song about a once friend.
I begin to sing as I watch my fingers run over the keys.
"I loved you then,
I love you now,
I know I always will.
You taught me love,
You showed me care,
You said you loved me too.
I put my trust in you,
We laughed,
We cried.
You were my all,
My light and life,
You were my guide in life.
You lied to me,
You never cared,
I saw the hate in your gaze.
You pushed me out,
Not a word was kind,
Why did you lie to me?
I loved you then,
I love you now,
I know I always will.
You apologized,
You look my way,
But the trust is dead and gone.
You lost me then,
You see that now,
I wish you would explain.
You want me back,
I push you away,
Why should I take you in?
I love you now,
I know I do,
But I can't let you in.
I love you dear,
My heart still says,
Yet my head says no.
Please get away from me,
You lied to me,
You yelled at me.
It's over and done,
It's over and done,
Goodbye my love my friend.
I loved you then,
I love you now,
I know I always will."
"The Song of the Sanders," I turn to see Magus standing in the doorway, "A beautiful song."
A smile appears on my face as I launch myself toward him, "Maggie!" I throw my arms around his neck, "I missed you."
I feel him kiss my cheek, "I missed you too, darling."
I pull back to see his face, "I thought you would be home when I returned."
Magnus chuckles, "I got a little sidetracked," his face grows serious, "Alexandria."
"Yes Magnus?" I ask curiously.
"Promise me something," without pausing I nod, "Promise me you'll never leave me like that again. Promise me you'll never disappear again," pulling me into a tight hug he whispers, "please, promise me."
"I promise Magnus, I promise." I whisper back. I feel his sigh in relief before he lifts me chin.
Magnus stares into my eyes and I smile, "You're doing it again."
"Doing what?" he asked as if he's in a daze.
"You're staring at me."
"My favorite pass time." He leans toward me capturing my lips with his.
"I love you." He whispers against my lips. I smile into the cliché kiss, knowing he means what he says.
Slowly we break the kiss, "I love you."
Don't even think about stealing the song, if you do I will hunt you down and send you to the Shadow Realm (Yu-Gi-Oh reference)
Also if you were wondering, yes it's based on an ex-friend of mine who's last name is Sanders.
