"Cap'n?" Peter calls anxiously from the hatchway.
That small voice is all it takes for Yondu to stir from a heavy, sex-induced sleep. He pushes himself up onto an elbow and barely cracks one red eye open. "Mm, Peter? Wha's goin' on, son? Sump'in happen?"
"Um," the little boy squeaks, "I heard a noise on the Milano…"
Udonta smiles, still mostly asleep, in that dreamy way that parents smile when the disaster they've been woken for is simply the darkness. "Aw, son, nothin' ta be afraid of on ya own ship…" Yondu's head nods and he blinks a few times, "You wanna be in with me the res' o' the night? C'mon, then." He waves for the child to approach.
As he speaks, a figure shifts next to him under the covers, a woman sighs. Udonta sneers and kicks at the prostitute, pushing her out of his bed, he'd forgotten she was still there. She yelps as she falls to the floor, and Yondu hisses at her.
"Shoo! G'won, git outta here," the Captain tosses the Krylorian's clothes at her as she grumbles, "Gift er no, who said you sleepin' on my ship?! G'won, shoo!"
The prostitute bares her teeth at the pirate as she tiredly pulls her coat on and trudges to the hatchway.
"Sorry," Peter mumbles.
"Don't sweat it, kid," she yawns and pats his head, "Go on'n get ta bed…"
"Don' apologize ta her," Yondu mutters as he rearranges the blankets, "She ain' paid ta sleep…" The Centaurian's head drops heavily onto his pillow and he sleepily lifts his arm to embrace the boy. "W'll come on."
The child Ravager darts across the Captain's shadowy quarters and scrambles onto the bed. Peter burrows under the covers and curls up into a ball against Yondu's strong, blue chest.
"'At's my boy," Udonta murmurs tiredly. He vaguely purses his lips and attempts to blow a tune, but he's too tired to make a real try of it, "M'nope, ain' whistlin'… Tha's okay… yo'r alrigh' now, ain'tchu?" He blindly tucks the blanket around his adopted son and rubs the boy's back as he settles himself more comfortably into his pillows. "We jus'… try ag'in t'morrow."
Quill hums a sigh and relaxes quickly in the pirate's arms. It takes only seconds for them both to fall into a deep, comfortable sleep.
