Alright people
Alright people! My second fanfic… I felt the need to write about the Uglies series :) I don't really know what genre to stick this one under…. So yeah, enjoy :D
Tally walked silently to her post and booted her skintenna signal. She could hear Shay's even breathing from the other side of the camp. she was fairly relaxed until her eyes fell on him. He looked so calm and peaceful wile he slept; but her enhanced eye sight caught the tired, sick look his face held. She just wanted to sleep next to him again... Like they used to before... Too bad that was impossible now. She was a Special; and she was on a mission.
Regret was not a feeling Specials felt, but damn she was feeling it now. Regret about not being brave enough to take both the pills herself. if she hadn't - as Maddy put it - experimented, he would have never gotten sick and she could still be with him.
"Tally" she heard through her skintenna. "We're leaving."
"Yeah..."
They boarded their hover boards and glided on the rivers' top. She took one last look back at Zane before gaining up with Shay, as her thoughts trailed behind her...
