Redemption

Rating: T

He's needed redemption since the Time War. During "Bad Wolf," he finds it.

He was never one to kill anyone, but with every floor they traveled, he became more willing. No sense killing the employees; they would be more useful alive. As long as they didn't get in his way.

The Controller began to talk to him. She told him that her masters feared him. They were right to fear him. He had no doubt that they were responsible for killing Rose. He wanted to know who killed Rose Tyler.

Who exactly killed her? Who wrote the software program for Anne Droid, and who built her laser cannon? Who was Bad Wolf? Who killed Rose Tyler?

"It doesn't matter."

How could anyone say that? It mattered, and he was going to break every time law he must to get her back.

Jack tried to tell him something. He didn't want to be interrupted. Jack disintegrated Lynda with a "y." Grief did strange things to humans, but he had never seen that before. Lynda came back. It was a transporter. Rose was still alive. He had never been happier he brought Jack aboard.

He needed the coordinates. The solar flares had passed, but the Controller read them off anyway.

They'll kill you.

"Doesn't matter. I've brought their destruction."

Their Oncoming Storm is here. Now the Storm needs its flame.

Rose, his flame. How could he have been so blind? The Daleks came on the screen. They surrounded Rose. Rose, his flame, amidst his enemies. Alive, and now no one would stop him.

They demanded his cooperation. Never

"She will be destroyed."

I'm gonna rescue her.

I'm gonna save Rose Tyler from the middle of the Dalek Fleet, and then I'm gonna save the Earth, and then just to finish off, I'm gonna wipe every last stinking Dalek outta the sky!

Rose?

I'm coming to get you.

He disconnected the visional connection with his sonic screwdriver. His gaze had never left hers. In her eyes, she told him that she feared for him. He said nothing would stop him from getting to her.

He wondered if she could hear any of his thoughts after that.

He turned to Jack. "I'm doing domestic."

"About time," Jack said, "I'm going to hold you to that."

"I'm counting on it."
