Against the Rules
I'm a righter
The voices and instruments still seem to buzz throughout the empty concert hall. They are taunting memories of a better time. It was only yesterday, but yesterday can feel so far away sometimes. Timmy walks along the dizzying maze of seats, his godparents float closely behind.
"Timmy, Sweetie," Wanda begins, "Is something wrong?"
Timmy's wishes aren't usually so simple. They're deep and tangling, sending the trio on a crazy adventure. So when Timmy wished he could visit the Dimmadome again, something didn't quite fit.
Timmy stops suddenly and shoves his hands in his pockets. He shrugs his shoulders in response to her question, then without turning around tells them,
"I wish you'd leave me here, completely alone, for five minutes." With a wave of the wands, they're gone. He begins walking again with his eyes cast down to the cracked concrete. His legs eventually direct him towards the centre stage. He's not sure if this action is intentional because any thought that even dares to enter his mind is banished. It must be pure impulse.
Timmy outstretches his short arms to grasp the stage's edge and hauls himself up. He sits with his feet dangling freely over the side. They hover high above the ground.
Maybe five minutes isn't near enough to wallow in a depression he doesn't quite understand. Maybe five minutes even isn't close to enough.
But he misses it so badly.
He misses the cheers of the audience, the energy that seemed to radiate from the microphone, and Chip. He misses him the most.
Cosmo and Wanda reappear by Timmy's side. They don't bother saying anything, and Cosmo's mouth has been taped shut. Just because, well, it's Cosmo.
As Timmy pulls himself to his feet, he offers them a small smile. He's trying to reassure them. Wanda returns the gesture.
"I wish we were back home."
A/N: The last thing I need to do is start another story, but there aren't nearly enough Timmy/Chip fanfictions. I'm aiming for a light, comedic one (despite the emotion in this introduction). If anyone's interested I'll try to continue it.
