First off, I haven't watched House in a while so some of these characters may seem a bit OOC but just bear with me ok? And I probably have way too many unfinished fics out there to be writing a new one but there's this little thing called 'inspiration' and it happened to me! XD
Dedicated to my BF Cile!

Rachel Cuddy was, to say the least, conflicted. Her new boyfriend was cute, charming, sweet, and he told her she was beautiful. But he had a reputation as a player and a cheater. Her friends all told her that he wasn't good for her. One had even given her that infamous ultimatum: Him or me. Yes, she was conflicted.

Her phone beeped and she picked it up. It was a text from Dustin. Do you wanna hang out? It was a typical Friday night; she had recently gotten home from her school dance and she was sitting on her pink bed, her slim figure adorned in fuzzy PJ's, and she was comfortable spending the remainder of her waking hours that night alone with her laptop and her feelings. She bit her lip and contemplated on how to reply. Her mom was working late, so she could easily slip out for a few hours. But tonight she was tired. And she was definetly conflicted. Not right now ok? Maybe tomorrow. She replied. He didn't say another word to her all night. She was scared, but she brushed it off and decided to video chat with her friends for a while.

XOXOXOXOXO

"I'm home Rachel! Tell your boyfriend to sneak out the back door." Lisa Cuddy called teasingly to the seemingly empty house. Rachel appeared in the hallway and rolled her eyes.

"Hi mom. How was work?"

"Ugh." Rachel had to laugh. "We had another mystery case and House is being annoying as ever. Turns out the patient had rabies, and of COURSE House had to try the experimental treatment, and of COURSE it worked. But, a rare side effect of this new treatment is auto immune disease, so NOW she had lupus, which is a take-it-or-leave-it, then she began having early signs of skin necrosis, because the new rabies treatment involves using warfarin, so we gave her heparin, and she went into anaphylactic shock, so he treated that, and now we have a patient with lupus. The absolute BEST case scenario would be that her mother sues for all the problems he caused, and money for all the lupus treatments later." Cuddy sighed and laughed a tiny, humorless laugh.

Rachel's face was the picture of shock. Her huge liquid brown eyes were popping out of their sockets. She gave her mom a hug and told her to sit down. Lisa sat on the couch and Rachel made them both hot cocoa and put on a movie. By the time they were ready to go to bed, neither Cuddy was feeling nearly as stressed as when she had gotten home.
