Ange: It's been awhile I know. I felt like writing some hetero but hopefully I'll kick this phase of mine soon and update rather than create more stories. Thanks for people that still follow me and I feel for your pain because I'm awful at following through with my promises. This has got to be the first time I can't think of a decent story title for a story.
Be True, Be You
Chapter 1: Shock wave
She stood there silent when it happened although her insides were reeling. It happened so suddenly so the shock wave touched everyone but it was on Sakuno that it pulsated around her the longest.
-
For you see Ryoma and Tomo were a couple now.
-
They were going out. They had been for the last month or so.
-
Sakuno still couldn't wrap her mind around it.
-
Tomo knew that she liked Ryoma even when she tried to deny it to herself. She knew that Tomo liked him too. That meant that he was off limits then, right? Then why would she go and date him behind her back?
-
Is this how friendships are supposed to be?
-
And so Sakuno skipped her own tennis practice and cornered her friend, growing a backbone that she didn't even know existed.
-
"Well when I confessed I wasn't expecting him to say yes," her friend replied her mind distracted by the boy in question who stood out of earshot with the other regulars.
-
"H…he said yes?"Sakuno repeated momentarily stunned.
-
Tomo blushed then avoiding her friend's piercing eyes. "Well more like an 'I don't care' and that means yes in my book."
-
"Oh…" Sakuno didn't know what to say, all the steam and adrenaline building up in her suddenly deflating.
-
"I'm sorry Saku," Tomo said becoming the friend she used to be once more. "You just never did anything so I thought it was okay to at least confess to him and get that off my chest. Do you want me to break up with him?"
-
Sakuno looked up with surprised eyes. Tomo would do that for her? A part of her, a very large part wanted to take her up on that offer. An equally large part resisted on abusing her friendship in such a way. Had she really sunken that low?
-
"No, of course not." Sakuno replied determined to take the higher ground. "In fact I don't even like him like that anymore."
-
"Are you sure…?" Tomo asked, disbelieving her claim.
-
Sakuno forced a smile to her lips, hoping it looked genuine. "Yes! I'm more an infatuated fan than anything else. I just love tennis that much I guess."
-
Tomo reached out and hugged her friend tight not letting go until she felt the other girl struggle to breathe.
-
"You're the best Saku!"
-
With a small wave she rushed off to meet up with her boyfriend whose attempt at escaping her notice failed.
-
Only when the pair disappeared from view did Sakuno allowed the smile to fall from her face. And as her eyes became murky from the wall of tears that welled up in front of it, she collapsed to the floor.
-
And then only then did she allow the tears to overflow.
A/N: So I kinda did this in one sitting or I know that it would be gathering pixilated dust on my desktop (I have a couple like that) so forgive any mistakes and OOC ness you may encounter.
