The ground was full of pools of blood . The ground was full of lava . Luffy's heart was beating at the speed of light ( that is impossible as your heart would LITERALLY EXPLODE in a matter of milliseconds) . As Luffy looked at his surrounding , all he could see was the bodies of his dead Nakama lying on the ground . He had made the one mistake he never should have made . Letting his friends persuade him into letting them fight along side him with them fighting the rest of the 6000 marines and with Luffy fighting Akainu was that ONE mistake . Zoro's own katanas had been impaled through this body . Nami had been suffocated to death ( due to a uncurable and deadly gas that killed within seconds ) . Sanji had somehow died during Luffy's fight with Akainu . Usopp had had his skull crushed into micro-fragments . Chopper body was full of holes and Frankys body turned into melted human/robot body parts ( both due to a highly advanced Pacifista . Brook had also had his bones crushed into micro-fragments . Robin had be exposed to too much seawater . He though to himself "This never should have happened ... if only I had came here alone ... this never would have happened . "he was thinking back to their final (tragic) moments together . Being that this was the loss of his friends , the closest thing he had to family next to sabo , he didn't feel the need to live anymore . He was prepared to die to be with them again . It wasn't worth living his life and continuing his adventure without his nakama with him .
His heart was slowly shutting down
