Here's a drabble for BellaPur's Foreign challenge on The Dark Lord's Most Faithful forum =)
HermioneViktor, because I felt like it ;)
The Foreign Challenge.
Harry Potter is pretty British-centric, but we all know there are witches and wizards all over the wee shop we call the world. We see characters from France, Bulgaria, Ireland, Russia, Italy, the Middle East and somewhere that speaks German. So my challenge for you is to write a 100/500 word drabbles (haven't had that word count in a long while!) based around another country. This can be a character from a foreign country like Fleur, Gregorovitch or those witches from the Salem Witches Institute. Or be less obvious; have a British character going on holiday or learning a language. Whatever takes your fancy, just so long as it includes some foreign culture in there =D
The water here feels cool to him, the stormy skies an unlimited kingdom – the whispering girls many and faceless.
Everything that unsettles her he finds simple. Everything she dismisses with a tight scowl he greets with eerie calm – leaning above her in the library, his voice rough, careful and oddly soft around her name, his eyes deep and dark and terribly unknown...
(and she learns to say yes, without thinking)
He whispers in her ear of Dark magic he didn't want to learn and fame, fame, fame (unreal, dizzying). She listens.
(he makes her feel ageless. A woman. A stranger.)
