A/N: Here's a preview of my first story. One good review and I'll continue. Constructive criticism is appreciated!
'LILY!' I yelled, as I jumped over the fence into her back garden. She was standing next to a big oak tree chatting excitedly to Petunia. 'SAM!' she yelled back. 'I got my letter!' she held up a piece of parchment with "To Miss Lily Evans" written on the front in emerald green ink. I ran over to her and Petunia stepped to the side to avoid getting hit. 'Hey Tuney,' I said quickly to her and I turned to face Lily. 'So did I!' I said back. 'Sev's on his way here.' I opened up the letter and read it out loud.
'"Dear Miss Lovegood
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on the 1st of September. We await your owl by no later than July 31st.

Minerva McGonagall
(Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry)"'
'YES!'
'Sam, Calm down.'
'YES!'
'Sam...'
'YES!'
'SAM!'
'We're going to Hogwarts, Lily!'
Lily rolled her eyes, but that couldn't mask her excitement.
Just then, a figure cloaked in black jumped off the wall.
'Lily, do you have any bandages? I scraped my hand while climbing over the wall'
Lily went inside to get him a bandage. When she walked out, Severus spoke. 'I got my Hogwarts Letter!'
Out of the corner of Lily's eye, she saw Petunia huff and walk indoors.
There was about half a minute of silence when Lily spoke.
'You know what this means, Don't you?'
The others shook their heads.
'We're going to learn magic!'
For the first time in their lives, they were well and truly happy.
