Remember, You're My Ham
"We are getting married! Because I love Hamtaro!"
Her words rang through my ears like a tornado siren blaring in the night. Though I was the first to hear what the Princess had said, I was the last to fully realize what was happening.
"Are you saying that seriously, Princess Shera?" her father questioned.
"Of course, Papa! That's what you want too!" she responded rather quickly. Though I had a smile plastered on my cheeks, my heart burned intensely. Oh, how I wanted this all to be a cruel joke! Just a dream! Oh, Maxwell, why did we ever decide to come to this cursed Hamu-Jya Kingdom? I am in love with, Hamtaro! Me, and only me! No one knows Hamtaro like I do! We've done so much together; created so many memories. I remember when we first met...
I had just woken from my afternoon nap when Boss came walking up the tree branch outside my window. Somehow he managed to slip and nearly hurt himself while doing this, and I wondered how. Then he began "singing" inaudible things to me. I was purely confused. Boss was acting stranger than usual. Then I saw "Him". He must have noticed Boss being weird and rushed onto the branch next to him. I knew I was in for a surprise then. I had never seen this hamster before. Then, he began to sing the most adorable song I had ever heard!
"Oh, chicka, chicka, chicka, when you're in a jam! Ticky, ticky, ticky! Remember I'm your ham! Oh, oh! Kushi, kushi, kushi! Remember I'm your ham! Badda, badda, badda, when you need a man. Dabba, dabba, dabba! Remember I'm your ham!"
It was such an impressive performance! And he even created it off a whim; I'm sure! He and his friends earned a hearty amount of sunflower seeds from that day. After they had received their gift, Boss seemed to be the most excited, but "He" was the one I was mainly focused on. I even gave him a little wink to let him know that I had my eye on him. Sadly, my caretaker, Maria, closed my window curtains, and I feared I would never see my precious ham again.
I spent the rest of that day thinking of that boy; wondering, what was his name? I soon learned that later. His name was Hamtaro. Then, with every passing day, I slowly fell more and more in love with him. Oh, I simply cannot be losing him to some stranger that he just met! This is ridiculous. But despite how horrified I am inside, I still have this silly smile on my face. Maybe it's because I don't want Hamtaro to see me sad; I don't want him to worry. If this Princess will bring the best for my Hamtaro, then who am I to complain? Best of luck to you, Hamtaro. I will always love you.
