Rachel Berry made her way into the 16th precinct with her head held high. She wanted to prove herself and nothing was going to stop her from doing so. As she entered a man stopped her.

"Hello, my name is Detective Amaro can I help you?" he said holding his hand out.

"Yes, actually my name is Rachel Berry. I have a meeting with Captian Cragen," she told him shaking his hand.

"Okay, no problem, his office is right this way," he said leading her there.

She approached the door and knocked lightly. A voice called for her to come in. She entered and a tall bald man stood to greet her.

"How can I help you?" he said to her.

"I'm Rachel Berry-" she started before cut her off.

"Ah, the new transfer from vice. I've heard good things about you. Youngest female in your division to make detective. Your drive moved you up in the ranks quicker than anyone I know. They were looking at you for Homicide but as soon as you made detective you requested a transfer hear. Why?"

"I had a friend back in college. She was raped and the guy was never caught. She committed suicide not a year later. He took everything from her and he never paid for it. People like my friend deserve justice and I want to give that to them."

"That's noble but you understand that you can't put away every rapist."

"I can try."

Cragen laughed, "I guess it was that determination that brought you here today. I'm going to partner you up with one of my senior detectives. She has been here for more that 20 years and she should be able to show you the ropes. She actually just walked in. Benson!"

A women in slacks and a leather jacket walked in. "Yes, Captain?" she said.

"I want to introduce you to Detective Berry, your new partner. She's a new transfer from vice. Make her feel welcome. "

"Of course. Come on," she said gesturing for Rachel to follow her. "I'm Olivia Benson but almost everyone here calls me Liv. "

"Rachel Berry, I normally go by Rachel but back in vice everyone used to call me Broadway," Rachel told her.

"That's and interesting nickname."

Rachel shrugged, "I had big dreams before I became a cop."

Olivia nodded but when Rachel didn't elaborate she let it go. Olivia gestured to the desk in front of hers and told Rachel it was hers. Rachel took a seat and looked around to get acquainted with the precinct. She turned to say something to Olivia but before she could the phone rang.

"Benson," Olivia answered, "Hey Lucy Q. Lucy calm down. Don't worry we will be there soon just hold on." Before Rachel could ask her what's wrong Olivia was running into Cragen's office. "Captain, Lucy has been attacked."

"Go! Take Amaro, Tutuola, and Berry!"

They all went rushing out. When they got to the car Rachel took the chance to ask who Lucy was.

"She's ADA Alex Cabot's younger cousin on her father's side. She works as the sketch artist and crime scene photographer for precinct and she's like a little sister to us all," Olivia told her as she turned on the police lights and headed for Lucy's house with Amaro and Tutuola following. When they got there Olivia took lead."Fin, you and Amaro search for evidence. I'll talk to Lucy. Berry you'll take notes."

With that they all flashed their badges and made their way to the apartment. When they entered the apartment Rachel saw Alex sitting on the coach with her arms wrapped around a smaller blond. When the smaller blond finally looked up Rachel found her eyes meeting hazel ones. When their eyes met Rachel's went wide with recognition.

"Quinn?"
