Tony woke with a start, drenched in sweat. He lay in bed for a moment, panting. When his heart rate and breathing had returned to normal he got up and padded downstairs to gym. As he got closer, he heard the rhythmical grunts and saw the light coming from under the door and knew he wasn't the only one awake.

'Steve', Tony said in greeting as he walked in.

'Tony. What are you doing up?', Steve asked, walking away from the punching bag.

'Couldn't sleep. You?'

Steve looked away. A small piece of hair fell forward over his face, and Tony had the sudden irrational urge to push it back.

'Same'.

They stood in silence for a moment.

'Want to spar?'

'It wouldn't exactly be a fair fight, Tony.'

'Don't worry. I'll go easy on you.'

Steve chuckled and looked Tony right in the eyes. 'Oh, I'm sure you will', he said with a wink and walked away.

Tony stood in shock for a moment. Was Steve - uptight, conservative Steve - flirting with him?

'We doing this or not, Tony?'

Steve was on the opposite side of the gym, pulling his boxing gloves on. Tony grinned at him and walked over, oh-so-conscious of the way Steve's shirt was riding up over his hips and showing just the barest hint of skin.

Once their gloves were on they walked over to the ring and stepped in. For a while they just went easy, getting used to the rhythm. There was something oddly comforting about it, Tony thought.

After a few rounds Tony stepped it up a notch. He ducked around a loose punch from Steve and punched him in the stomach, hard. Steve gasped and bent over slightly, but immediately recovered and returned with a punch to Tony's kidney, and then another to his gut, making him gasp.

Tony gestured for him to stop. Instantly, Steve was by his side, holding him up. Tony wanted to brush him off, say he was fine, but instead he just leaned on him and accepted his help.

Steve half-carried Tony over to the couch and collapsed awkwardly onto it. Somehow Tony ended up lying half on top of Steve with one arm under him and the other between Tony and Steve's chests.

Steve and Tony looked at each other for a moment and then Tony leaned in and gently kissed Steve.

Tony went to pull away, knowing that he was going to be rejected, but Steve's arm was behind him now, holding him down, and Steve was kissing him back.

After what seemed like forever, but could only have been a few minutes later, they stopped kissing and just lay on the couch in each others arms.

Soon after that Tony fell asleep, and Steve held him all night, just listening to him sleep.

Not sure if I'm going to do more, so if you want some more you'll need to review and tell me!
