Very quick short prologue I've written to get this story started. I'm not sure how it will pan out, but it's an idea I've had and I think it can work.

2110 AD

A gunshot exploded into the still night air just as a soft rain began to fall. Screams followed and the silence was suddenly broken.

"On the ground!" the hooded man screamed in a voice that demanded complete attention. No one on the street dared to move from the ground on which they had thrown themselves. The man was not alone; there stood many more behind him, all armed, and all ready to kill anyone who disobeyed.

"Where is he?" His face remained concealed behind the dark cloak. He knelt beside an aging woman, and with the tip of his weapon, turned her face to look upon him. "You know of whom I speak," He said with icy certainty. The woman's eyes remained locked on the ground, and, trembling, she replied.

"I do not know who you are looking for. We are not hiding anyone."

The others scattered on the street around her held their breath in anticipation. Their tattered clothing was already soaking through, and the air put a chill in their bones that was not easily shook. These streets were their only homes.

"Lies," The hooded man spat, shoving the barrel of his gun harder into the side of her face. "He has been here! I've heard of it!"

The woman on the ground before him let out a small scream as he recharged his weapon. "I don't know where he is!" She cried desperately.

He hesitated a moment, "So you admit that you have seen him."

"Once," She said quickly, not knowing what else to do. "Many months ago, not since. We have not heard, or seen of him since." Her voice faltered at the end.

The man continued to look at her for only an instant longer before he pulled his trigger. Before the woman could utter a cry she was gone; leaving only her clothing, and strewn ashes behind.

The others let out terrified cries, still refusing to move from the now rain-soaked ground.

The man straightened up and surveyed the men and woman scattered around at his feet. "We have no more use for them," He said simply, replacing his weapon underneath his cloak. "Destroy them."

I know as of now this doesn't even seem to relate to HP, but trust me, it will. Especially in the beginning of chapter one I'll start to describe some of what's going on.
