"Open the door for a lady, Templeton." The words still ring in my head. "Be loyal and loving and dedicated. Never make promises you can't keep."

Be gracious. Be thoughtful. An officer and a gentleman. I've been learning it throughout my entire life – words and examples, and the harder lessons of personal experience. Women are beautiful creatures - to be cherished, valued, and treated with respect. Honor them. Adore them. They are everything that you're not, and deserve your attention and care. The days of knights in shining armor and damsels in distress may be long past, but there is forever something inherent in a woman that wishes to be held close, never at arm's length. Hold them. Love them. Women are precious and worthy of your efforts. Protect them, even at injury to yourself.

The VC woman looks right at me as I pull the trigger.

Chivalry is dead.
