Another Sweeney Todd poem. They keep coming into my head without warning, and I have to write them down. So enjoy!
Characters should be pretty clear.
-----------
Do I know you?
Your eyes so black
so cold.
Your skin so pale
so white.
Do I know you?
Your hair so messy
one white streak.
Your hands so shaky
unsure.
Do I know you?
Your mouth so taut
unsmiling
But somehow I can picture
you smiling.
Do you know me?
You stand there so silently
no change.
Am I wrong?
Do I know you?
Your memory so faint
but coming back.
Your person so handsome
so kind
so loving
so generous
so naïve.
I hear his voice
coming up the stairs
my tormentor.
I know you.
I know him.
I am about to tell you
warn you
when I see the way you turn
grasping
your razors so precious
so cold.
As my last thought
I hold onto what I know
I know you.
You don't know me.
Not anymore.

What do you think? It's a free-verse poem again, that's the style that seems to flow lately.
Until we meet again,
Shay
