Chapter 1: Girl Meets Dad
"Snake!" Emma shouted. It was Friday night and Emma had homework and a date w/ Sean. "I need help w/ this MI assignment!" "Emma, you know I can't help you." Mr. Simpson said sympathetically. "Then I'm gonna have to call Sean to cancel." Emma sadly said. "It's Friday night right?" "Yea? So?" Emma said puzzled. "So! You have the whole weekend; go on your date with Sean. By the way, what are you doing with Sean?" Snake asked concerned. "Oh.uh? We're going to the All American Rejects concert. Sean got tickets through his brother. Tracker has a job as a DJ on a radio station now." Emma explained. Spike entered the room. She saw Archie and Emma hugging. for the 1st time. "Okay! Who are you and what have you done with my daughter and husband?" "I just told Emma she could go on her date with Sean." Archibald explained. "I better get ready! The ALL AMERICAN REJECTS are waiting!!!!!" Emma said excitingly.
Later that night while they were at the concert, Emma noticed someone in the seat next to her. He looked like her a little. Same eyes, same face really. Emma took out her cell phone. Thank god Emma got a picture phone for her 14th birthday. She dialed spikes number. "Hi, mom!" "What is it Emma?" Spike said concerned "What did my dad look like? Could you send a picture?" "Sure Em. Just one minute." Spike sent a picture of a guy who looked EXACTLY like the guy sitting next to her. "Thanks mom!" Emma hung up the phone, and tapped Shane on the shoulder. "Shane?" Emma asked "Yea? Do I know you?" "You should! I'm your daughter. Emma Nelson." "Spike Nelson's kid?" "Yea! Sean, I wanna go home!" "Okay." Sean and Emma left. On their way back Emma sat down on a bench and started crying. "What's wrong? Was it something I did?" "No. The reason I wanted to leave was.. Was.." Emma couldn't say it. "Your dad?" Sean asked but he already knew the answer. "Yes." Emma ran home. When she got there she just went up to her room and didn't talk to anyone for the rest of the weekend.
