The growling, snarling, and barking coming from the mezzanine level of the Hub was enough for even Gwen to keep her head down for the afternoon. Owen ignored it, engrossed in poking through the contents of their latest fatality's gizzard. Tosh considered it an improvement over the days of listening to one half of a screaming match with Yvonne Hartman. Ianto just placidly set about making coffee and delivering it round, waiting until the final roar of frustration stopped echoing before taking a cup up to Jack.
Ianto tapped considerately at the glass door and braced.
"What?!" Jack snapped. The door opened and Jack glared, then immediately softened and sighed, "I'm sorry."
"It's alright, I was expecting it," Ianto said with a patient grin.
Jack shook his head. "Doesn't make it alright. I can't take my frustrations out on you."
Ianto handed Jack his mug and set a plate of Jaffa Cakes on the desk. "You can a little bit," he said, perching beside Jack.
Jack smirked faintly. "Yeah. Maybe later."
"I'll hold you to that," Ianto said. "Actually, I was thinking. You could do with a nice dinner. Maybe a movie."
Jack brightened up right away, grinning. "Ianto Jones, are you asking me out on a date?"
"Yep."
"Hmm. Tempting. Still… not in an office, though?"
Ianto frowned. "I think not."
"One of these days!"
"That a 'yes', then?"
Jack nodded. "Yeah."
Ianto smiled. "Good. Shall we say 6?"
"Ok," Jack said, handing his empty mug back to Ianto. "I'll be ready."
"Of course you will," Ianto said, leaning down to kiss Jack's cheek.
Jack turned at the last moment and held Ianto's shoulder, turning it into a full-on snog. Jack just smiled at Ianto when he finally let up. Ianto shook his head, but was smiling back anyway as he cleared away their mugs
"Thank you, Ianto," Jack said sincerely as Ianto headed back out.
"Always my pleasure, sir." He thought it rather likely he'd be sharing the pleasure later, though. And that was just what Jack needed.
