"So, it's a done deal?"

"Yep."

"And no feelings right?"

"Why would I have feelings for YOU?"

"Just checking. Alright, take my hand."

Draco cringed as he took hold of my hand

gingerly. I grasped it and dragged him out of the closet into the great hall.

At once, Draco saw Pancy Parkinson, who waved at him eagerly, and slid his hand around my waist. Her face fell, and she ran out of the great hall, trying not to cry. I saw Ron

looking in my direction and leaned my head on Draco's shoulder while everyone

else stared in awe. Then, we separated, and the whole hall was silent, even the teachers, as we stared lovingly into each other's eyes.

"WHAT THE HELL HERMIONE!" Ron shouted while

Harry tried to hold him down. He had just broken our 4 day streak of awkwardness since that day. "DRACO MALFOY?"

"What? " I asked innocently, enjoying every

second off Ron's rage.

"What about him?" I asked matter-of-factly,

restraining myself from smiling.

"Well, he's HIM!" he almost shouted, incredulously.

"And your point is?"

"He's THE ENEMY." He whispered, leaning towards me.

"Well, 'the enemy' is more of a gentleman

than you ever were when we were dating!" and with that, I stormed out of the

grand hall.

Once out of the hall, we met outside .

"So, did it have the desired affect? " Draco asked.

"Yeah. You?"

Draco nodded sternly.

Suddenly,we heard noises and ducked between a pillar and a wall. The noise that followed

was a combination of the swishing of robes, stomping of feet and soft mumbling.

"Ron! Stop it! What's wrong?"

"She chose DRACO MALFOY over me?"

"Well, you did cheat on her, Ron."

And then there was silence as the sound of

the swishing of robes passed us by.

"So, you're trying to get back at him because he CHEATED ON YOU?" Draco snickered"

" Well why are you doing this then?"

" Pansy's being too clingy."

I sighed and proceeded on my way back to the Gryffindor common room.

"Wait, Granger," he called after me, grabbing my wrist. I stopped, spun around and looked at him, and for a second, just, a brief second, our eyes met, and it was as if my eyes were glued to his, but I shook my head.

"What?"

"Um, what are we doing tomorrow then?"

" we'll just have to wing it."
