It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
Lucy was sitting next to Edmund, crying. They had been talking about Narnia…again. "I don't know if we should ever go back, Ed." Lucy murmured quietly. Edmund gave her a large hug, and locked his brown eyes onto her blue eyes. "Of course we'll go back, Lu. Do you think Aslan wouldn't bring us back?"
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before
All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye
You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye
Peter, Edmund, and Lucy were walking outside. The two youngest had been telling Peter all about their most recent-and last-adventure in Narnia-the voyage of the Dawn Treader. "Eustace went too? I can't believe that you spent a month on a ship with Eustace!" Peter teased. Edmund just turned and glared at him. "Oh, come on, Peter! You wouldn't recognize Eustace now a days! He's changed almost as much as Edmund did!" Lucy protested. Peter grinned. "Don't worry, Lu, I'm just teasing." Lucy glanced at Edmund and rolled her eyes. "Should we tell him Eustace turned into a dragon?" Lucy queried. Edmund shook his head slightly. "I don't want to spoil it for Eustace." he grinned.
Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye
Edmund looked down the train tracks. Where was the train? It appeared to be late…and the sooner he and Peter got Eustace and Jill to Narnia, the better. A glance at Peter showed that he was looking of into the distance-which meant that he was thinking about Susan again. Both brothers (and Lucy) were sad that Susan had forgotten Narnia, but they never tried to force her to change her mind. (Especially since she threw her hat at Edmund) Suddenly, Peter started. "Here comes the train." he murmured. Edmund looked down the track, and saw the train roaring in. His eyes widened. "Peter-the train's going too fast! It's going to crash!" The two boys looked at each other, and gulped. Strangely, they didn't feel scared about the upcoming event. "For Narnia and for Aslan." they said. When the train pulled in, there was a rush of noise, and a blinding light…and then nothing. The next thing Edmund knew, he was in a garden, alongside Peter, Lucy, Aunt Polly, the Professor, Eustace, and Jill. A little bit later, he found himself talking with Aslan. Lucy mentioned that they were afraid of being sent back into England. Aslan smiled at his beloved queen as he explained, "The term is over: the holidays have begun. The dream is ended: this is the morning."
It was then that they all knew. They were home. For good.
