"Link, Link, LINK! Get up!"
"Wh-what? Who are you?"
"I'm Navi the fairy! Come ON, get up! The Great Deku Tree wants to see you!"
"The Great Deku Tree? Wants to see ME?"
"Yes, yes. Get up!"
Link jumped out of bed and hastily climbed down the ladder of his tree house. I saw him from behind the thick trunk. I watched as he stopped to talk to Saria. I was a little jealous of her; she was such good friends with Link, and he didn't even know I was alive, let alone watching his every movement. Of course, I had never let him see me, so he couldn't know. But still, I was a little jealous. Saria and I had talked, and she also recognized how different Link was, how special. We both had our theories; hers that he was the next great Kokiri leader, which changed later on, and mine that he would be more than that, that he would be a great warrior, a legend.
I think we all know who was right in their early suspicions. Anyway, I watched as he ran over to the entrance of the Great Deku Tree's grove. That boy ran everywhere. Mido the "Great" stopped him, telling him that he needed to get equipped.
"Hey, stop! Link, you need a shield and a sword if you wanna see the Great Deku Tree!"
"C'mon Mido, just let me through. I've been summoned"
"I don't think so, get a sword and a shield and then we'll see"
Link got the typical rude Mido treatment. I think it made him a little mad, but it was a good thing he got the stuff.
After Mido let him through, he went in and spoke to the Great Deku Tree, who let him inside. I followed him in, but didn't go through the Tree with him. I ashamed to say, but I was scared. Not of what lurked inside, but of Link seeing me…I just was nervous.
