WITHIN THE SHADOWS
Chapter 1- Dark Mists
The sun was setting on the horizon, coloring the sky with fuchsia and indigo streaks, stars peeking out behind the curtain of night. A fire crackled, swaying in the breeze, flickering shadows upon skin of stone and highlighting lavender hair.
Zelgadis sighed, as he stirred the embers around with a stick. The group decided to spend the day at a lake because of the heat; even nighttime was humid.
Strong arms enfolded him from behind; silky strands of violet hair tickled his cheek. He leaned closer into the embrace, letting his senses roam.
"Your awfully quiet, Zel-kun." Xellos stated as he stroked the chimera's hair.
Zelgadis tilted his head up, peering into violet depths and smiled. "Must be the weather."
Xellos laughed softly, kissing those desirable lips.
Zelgadis lost himself in to the sensation and drew Xellos closer. They both parted for air their breaths coming in short pants. He looked in Xellos's eyes but not saw passion, instead he saw his eyes darting around, seeking for his prey.
"What's the matter Xellos?" Zelgadis asked, concern clearly heard.
Xellos remained silent, still seeking.
Within the tent in which Lina and Amelia slept, a dark mist eloped them, twisting and turning like a snake. The mist entered the two sleeping girls.
Lina and Amelia opened their eyes, but instead of orange a and blue eyes, theirs gleamed of frosty blue.
Getting up, they stumbled out of the tent like zombies. Looking at the two figures seated before the fire, their prey for the night.
