The Hyuuga tell stories of the Uchiha, the ash-eaters children. Yet they do not know that the Uchiha have their own stories to tell.

The Hyuuga are short lived. They all die young. They sold their souls and it bleached their eyes.

It twisted their hearts. And their children pay the price.

Marks on foreheads, scars on hearts and a vein of madness sewn into their skin.

They wear their arrogance like cloaks, to weather a storm.

Their children pay the price. Of madness and death and rage deep within.

The Uchiha are long gone but the Hyuuga remain: white but dark and still wearing their cloaks.

Their children pay the price.

Neji, when he is alone and no one is watching, he sings. His feet start a rhythm and the wind is his beat. He is free and he flys like a sparrow far away from here.

The scars no longer matter, nor the blood and pain in his back. He is free and he sings and he is no longer here.

The scar twinges and he falters and he cries once more.

For the sun is rising and the children pay the price.
