* My first songfic! It's a little on the sappy side but then I think this song fits their relationship well and it made me think about Rinoa and Squall. It's in Squall's point of view. It's Squall's thoughts while thinking of Rinoa.

Rinoa couldn't believe her eyes. I could tell she was really excited. She saw Balamb Garden hovering across a beautiful landscape. She heard the birds sing their songs and the breeze playing with her jet black hair. She turned to me and gave me a serene smile...What is this I'm feeling?

(When we look into each other's eyes you smile at me...I feel tranquil. Calm. Rinoa, give me another chance.)

What am I going to say to her? It doesn't really matter does it? Rinoa is Rinoa. She's finally here. She's a soceress...and I don't care! I'll protect her...I'll be her knight.
"Maybe I should go back to The Sorceress Memorial? It might be better that way." Rinoa said to me.
"No, that would be pointless. I'd just be after you again...Rinoa, just stay close to me." I said......if this was me before this all happened...Would I say that? I......sure have changed.

I held her very close. I couldn't understand what I was feeling, but I couldn't stand being far from her. Since the moment I saw her in that ballroom, I had this feeling she was gonna effect me somehow, but I didn't expect this. She's the only one that truly makes sense right now...Rinoa, don't leave.
"Squall, don't! I'm a sorceress."
"I don't care."

All my life I've been alone and it was for the best most of the time. When you rely on other people, it feels great. Having other people care for you and being there when you need help, but it doesn't last forever. And now this girl suddenly comes to my life and starts bugging the hell out of me...I guess she couldn't give up on me. She wanted to know my feelings, get to know me better....know me. Now there's something no one has tried to do. Everyone thinks I'm just "Squall the selfish and lonewolf guy". She's showed me how it feels like to be loved.

There was a party going on inside the ballroom. Inside, it was loud with laughter and people, but here it's so quiet and peaceful. I promised we'd see shooting stars together and here we are. The night was dark and the moon was full and bright. There were starts everywhere, it was a far difference from that dark, misty world...When I couldn't hear your voice, Rinoa, I didn't know if I could live. There was no hope; I couldn't find a way out...I felt like I was disappearing. Thank you, Rinoa...you didn't let me disappear. I looked up and saw a shooting star pass by. I noticed that she saw it too 'cause she pointed up at it and smiled. Then, we kissed. Long and gentle....I think I heard someone from behind, but I didn't care. Rinoa's here with me,....and that's all that matters.
