Love and Fear
Chapter 1
"In all my days in all my years, I've never seen a human so beautiful, and yet, here I am, staring into the gorgeous brown eyes of my wife. Why am I so in love with you? Why do you love me, knowing what I am? Why do you want to be with me aware that I could lose control and have you drained of all life all but to easy? Why?" was all he could mutter when Edward and I were finally alone since the first time he got home.
And what I said surprised him; somehow I knew he was going to ask something like this when he got home. "For the first question, I love you. For the second question, I try to act like a normal family for Charlie's and your sake. And for the third question," I hesitated; we usually never talked about this, "I know you wouldn't do it on purpose."
"Oh Bella, My dear sweet Bella, what would I do without you?"
"Like I told you a-million times, whatever you did before me."
He wrapped me in a big tight bear hug, as tight as he could without hurting me. "I love you Bella."
"I love you too Edward," I said as I pulled away, pushed on my toes, and gave him a kiss, unlike usually, he kissed me back with startling compassion. Neither of us wanted to let go as Alice knocked on the door once, and without waiting for a response, danced the door open, even scaring Edward, he was so overjoyed to hold his angel, he wasn't listening to anything else but my breathing, making sure I remembered how to breath. We slowly pulled apart as Alice dropped her jaw in joy, which was strange to see, she was never surprised.
"Yes Alice?" I asked in an embarrassed voice as I began to blush.
"Oh, I can come back if I was interrupting something," replied Alice in a mocking tone I knew was originally meant for Edward.
"Actually, we were--" he started, but I quickly interrupted him for some reason,
"No, not really. I think we can make time for Alice, can't we Edward?"
