Title: When You Say Nothing At All.
Summary: Olivia contemplates how Peter says it best when he says nothing at all.
A/N: Right now, I'll keep writing one-shots in which P&O will be together, since I don't want to believe that 'Livia is stuck over there. And, until I am done writing my multi-chapters!
This fic is based of the song with the same name 'When You Say Nothing At All' by Boyzone.
Unfortunately, I own nothing! Song ain't mine, show ain't mine. But take my word, Peter and Olivia will be mine one day!
All the paperwork was done and there was no recent case, yet the team was gathered at the Harvard University. Walter doing what he always did; experimenting. Peter sat behind the piano, playing some notes. Olivia caught herself staring at him, and somehow he had noticed too, because he was looking her right in the eyes. Her heart jumped a little as she recognized the song and she could hear him sing it, while he kept his mouth closed. It was as if he was speaking, or rather singing, to her heart and somehow the lab was a much lighter place today.
She had noticed those moments before, and she tried to find an explanation, but she quickly realized that there wasn't any. There was no explanation for the moments she could hear him talk, when he said nothing at all.
Sometimes, when they were at a crime-scene, she could hear the witnesses talking to her colleagues, they were always talking pretty loud, probably to make themselves audible over the sirens of police cars. But whenever Peter would come to stand next to her, while Walter would be examine the victim, she felt like they were all alone. The people around her left and all she could see would be him. Sometimes she would see Walter look, or Broyles, she had even seen Charlie look when he was still alive. They all thought they knew what was going on, but they would never know how hard her heart would be beating, in sync with his.
He would smile at her when he needed her, if Walter had found out something about the victim, for example. Or if he just needed to give her coffee, because she shouldn't forget to drink.
He would look at her to tell her he would never leave, because the thought of him leaving still scared her. And he had said many times that he isn't the type to stay at one place. But when he looked at her like that she knew it was the truth, he wouldn't leave.
He would lightly touch her hand, when he would tell her to be careful when she was going to chase a suspect. Or when she was about to do something dangerous. It told her that he would be there when it would go wrong.
She was absolutely certain that he said all the things he wanted to say, when he said nothing at all.
She was pulled from her thoughts when her cell phone rang, and before she answered it, she looked in his eyes. She knew exactly what he was thinking as she checked the caller id and told him what he wanted to hear.
'We have a case!' She turned around to leave as she answered her phone.
Well, this came about in 20 minutes! Tell me what you think!
Because saying nothing at all doesn't work for this situation, ;)!
