Phil lay on his stomach on his bed. He was trying to respond to some of the Tweets that fans had sent to him but he couldn't concentrate. All Phil could think of was Dan.
Dan had been a bit quiet lately. He had no problem talking to Chris or PJ but he barely said a word when Phil would come near. Phil was concerned by this. He shouldn't worry way too much but he was in love with the boy. Of course Dan didn't know that.
Dan had been feeling down. Nobody really asked him why, but it was because he started to form feelings for Phil. Who would want to date Dan? Heck, even Dan wouldn't date himself. Dan was a neat freak and all he could really talk about was times spent with Phil. It would get annoying, especially if your girlfriend asked you about your day and all you did was talk about your friend.
Phil sighed and ditched his laptop to join Dan in the living room. He had been attempting to watch the telly but instead just gazed at the wall. Phil came in and Dan turned it off.
"Hey," Dan said, his voice low and shaky. Phil waved back and sat down next to him. Dan's deep brown eyes were staring into Phil's bright blue ones. You could tell he was expecting something.
"Dan, I'm worried about you. You haven't been talking and you haven't been smiling or laughing with me for a while now. Chris and PJ have noticed too. Just tell me, Dan, what's wrong?" Dan stared a few seconds longer into those blue orbs and sighed. Could he really tell Phil? He wanted to but the idea was a bit scary. He turned way.
"Phil, I like somebody. This person is fantastic. Treats me well, cares about me, is beautiful. All I want in the world is this person and I can't even get the courage to ask." Dan was now hunched over, his elbows on his knees and his sad stare on the floor. Phil's eyes were filling with concern and his body was facing Dan, legs crossed. His hands were together and resting in his lap. Well, that was until he leaped forward and surprised Dan with a caring hug. Dan silently sobbed into Phil's shoulder which worried him even more. Dan wasn't really one to cry and no way Phil would have known before that Dan's little crush affected him this much. Phil hushed him and rubbed small circles in his back.
"Dan, any girl would be lucky to have you. You have the looks and the charm. You are kind and caring and funny. What girl wouldn't want that, huh?" What was Phil saying? He was making his crush a bit too obvious now, but he hoped Dan didn't notice. Dan didn't. The tears slowed down and after what seemed to be an hour Dan looked into those eyes again and smiled.
"Phil, that's sweet," his smile dropped, "but this person is better than me." Dan just gazed at Phil with a blank expression.
"Dan, stop this. You are never going to get this girl if you don't ask her, okay? Trust me." Dan grinned slightly and hugged him.
"Thank you, Phil. There's something I want to say." Phil stopped hugging Dan and his eyes filled with concern again. He nodded and Dan continued. "Phil, my best friend and flatmate, you are not a girl." Phil burrowed his brows in confusion until he realized what Dan meant. Dan was terrified and he started to get up to go to his room but Phil grabbed his arm to stop him. Dan turned and looked at Phil. Phil's cute little grin took over his face and his tongue went straight to the side of his mouth. Dan smiled. He thought that that grin was absolutely adorable. He couldn't even remember what they were talking about but it came back to him when Phil captured his lips into a loving, passionate kiss. They both smiled into it and for once, Dan was happy again. His worries were gone. He had what he wanted and just melted into Phil with pure joy. Dan pulled away and the biggest of smiles was plastered onto his face. Phil mirrored his expression and blushed a bit.
"Dan, I love you," Phil said, and Dan nodded with a giggle.
"I love you too."
