While Kurt was laying on his stomach on the wooden floor of Blaine's dorm room, working on his Chemistry homework, Blaine hopped up to sit on the desk and plugged his iPod into the docking station. The sudden burst of loud music made Kurt squeal in surprise. Blaine chuckled to himself while thumbing through the selection of music, finally settling on Open My Eyes, by Buckcherry. As the sounds of the piano filled the room, Kurt smiled. He loved Blaine's rugged music. Blaine cleared his throat.
"So Kurt,"
"Yes, Blaine?" Kurt answered dryly, still unimpressed from being startled by the music.
"As you know, Dalton's winter formal is next week,"
"Mhmm,"
"Would you like to be my date?" At those words, Kurt felt his cheeks turn red in his signature blush. His immediate thought was to answer "yes", but he had one insecurity deep down that made him hesitate before answering.

Kurt had never learned how to dance. Sure, he could bust out the Single Ladies moves better than any girl he knew, and Lady GaGa's signature numbers weren't a problem. Mastering choreography was easy, but the natural sway of a waltz was something he'd never picked up on. Most boys would dance with girls at the age of thirteen or fourteen at school dances, but obviously Kurt had never been interested in dancing with girls. In fact, at McKinley's last school dance, he'd watched Finn slow dance with Rachel for a few songs, feeling his heart breaking, before Karofsky and Azimio had taken him out back and tossed him into a dumpster. "So much for that dream," he'd thought at the time.

"Kurt? How about it?" Blaine said, bringing him back into the present moment.
"Blaine.. can you teach me how to dance?"
"Kurt, you're the best dancer I know,"
"Please, Blaine? Just one song?"
"Okay, Kurt," Blaine said, jumping off of the wooden surface of the dresser and walking over to Kurt. He placed one hand on the small of Kurt's back and took Kurt's hand in his own. Kurt put his free hand on Blaine's back, and lay his head down on Blaine's shoulder, breathing in his scent.

Come closer now, to this love we've found, are you able to take this flight?
It comes down to this, the first time we kissed, like the ocean we sway, you and I.

Kurt kissed Blaine softly on the cheek before whispering in his ear,
"Of course I'll be your date. Now, which one of us is supposed to lead?"
