Sir Cadogan's Advice to Ginny

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Second-floor hallway, left hand side...

"Who goes there?"

Ginny looked around, her eyes finally settling on a portrait of a knight in full armor on a small, fat pony.

"Are you speaking to me?" asked Ginny

"Indeed, young lass. I have seen you here before, but you have paid me no mind. Is there something troubling you?" the knight questioned.

"You've seen me? I don't even remember coming along this hallway before!"

"Well, you were holding a small black book and looked to not be in your own mind." the portrait pointed out, helpfully.

"I suppose I should tell someone. I'm scared though. What if it's my fault that everyone is petrified?" she said.

"You must gather your courage young lady! I can see you are a Gryffindor, so speak to your house-mates." he advised.

"I'll try." said Ginny.

And try she did, but was scared away from confessing to Harry by her older brother, Percy. She never forgot the portraits advice, however, and in years to come she strove to live up to his comforting words.
