As Abrielle Sorashukon sprinted through the streets of the Seireitei, Her long blonde hair tumbled through the air and she cursed at her new captain for scheduling her appointment so early in the morning.
'I would be assigned to the fucking 9th Division.' She sighed.
She had no idea why the captain of the 9th Division had picked her to become the new 3rd seat though. I mean sure, she was a skilled soul reaper. But frankly, she was not cut out for the division expected to protect the Seireitei, oversee arts and culture, manage the Seireitei News Magazine, and oversee reports from the lieutenants of other squads. Abrielle was a simple girl. She enjoyed coffee and cigarettes; she despised when others interfered in her business; and she refused to become involved with matters that did not concern her. Therefore, she was less than happy when she was told she had been transferred to become the 3rd seat of 9th division after only serving a month as the 7th seat of 6th division since her graduation from the academy.
She had enjoyed her time in the 6th division. They were the model division in the Soul Society. Every Shinigami assigned to 5th was handpicked by the esteemed Captain Kuchiki. Therefore, she had been ecstatic when she heard that she had been chosen to fight among the Soul Society's elite, as a seated officer no less, straight out of the academy.
You can imagine her fury when she learned of her transfer from the most self reliant and impressive squad to the squad tasked with menial chores such as running the News Magazine. Even if that transfer did involve moving up quite a few seats, Abrielle was not looking forward to her time at Squad 9 one bit. She was especially dreading having to deal with the 9th Division captain and lieutenant. It was a running joke among those in The Gotei 13 that Lieutenant Hisagi took everything far too seriously. Abrielle had never met the guy before but oh, she'd seen him. He ran around the Seireitei on a daily basis trying to fulfill the duties of both a captain and lieutenant due to the former captain, Kaname Tosen's, betrayal of the Soul Society. And, though he wasn't particularly flamboyant about his efforts, he was always gravely serious even when carrying out the most menial tasks. However, while she was sure she would be able to tolerate the lieutenant eventually, she was more than nervous about dealing with the new captain of 9th Division. She had heard stories of his past and the very thought of serving under Kensei Muguruma sent chills down her spine. It was not just the fact that he was half hollow that set her on edge, but also the captain's infamous decisive and temperamental personality. She was sure that they would not get along.
Refusing to be overcome by her negative thoughts, Abrielle rolled back her shoulders, tidied her hair and sauntered into the Squad 9 barracks, head held high.
