Title: Afterthoughts
Summary: Spoiler for Inuyasha v.54 ch.529 manga. Inuyasha, Sango, and Kohaku's thoughts of what just happened to Kohaku.
Inuyasha couldn't help but beat himself up, over and over again. So kind, so giving, so caring. The late priestess was a beautiful person in and out. Even after all these years, children was still a weakness of hers. He hated himself because Naraku was right, how would he fair in the battle without her? Even in death Kikyou could not rest, Inuyasha could not finish the mission he vowed to complete for her—for them. It was still her, even in spirit, helping him to protect and save the ones hurt by Naraku.

Sango wept with joy as she held her brother. She couldn't believe the miracle that Kikyou granted them. Had not the woman said that she would do whatever it took to destroy Naraku? Even if it meant giving up a boy's life? She silently thanked the deceased priestess for the generous gift that she bestowed upon her and her sibling. Kikyou honestly did help her by helping Miroku; and now Kohaku, that Sango knew she could never possibly repay the woman. In the shadows of her mind, Sango couldn't help but realize why Inuyasha fell in love with her in the first place.

Kohaku couldn't believe he was alive. He told Kikyou-sama that he would willingly give up his life in order to take out Naraku. He wondered if what she did was the right thing to do. Sure he wanted to live and he was grateful, but now the light was with him instead of the jewel, which is now in Naraku's possession—she could've defeated the hanyou, but she chose to save him instead. Kohaku couldn't help but feel a little saddened that two women have died, and in the end they protected him. He hoped that his sister would not suffer the same fate.
A/N: I know this totally sucked. Oh and I'm sorry I didn't do Kagome, but I didn't know what I would write...I kinda ran out of ideas. If you didn't know the terms:
hanyou: half-demon
sama: it's equivalent to "lady"
