"Percy! I'm gonna freaking kill you!" Annabeth screeched out as her face contorted in pain. Breathing heavily she leaned her head back against the starch white pillow.
"Okay, okay." He tried to soothe, apparently it wasn't working as much as he had hope. His wife continued to grip his hand painfully tight.
"If you say it's okay one more time, so help me…" Another contraction cut her off and Percy was glad. He did not want to hear the end of that sentence.
A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts and Leo stepped into the room. "Hey Annabeth," He did an awkward wave. "So…The others sent me to see how you were doing."
Her reply was a glass cup to the wall. Leo's face paled and he swiftly left the room.
Chiron then came in next with his hands raised, "Don't worry. It's not Leo." He grinned as Annabeth blushed.
The light mood was quickly dropped as the blonde let out another pained scream. Percy paled as Chiron murmured happily, "It's time."
Annabeth's heavy breathing filled the room once again as she started to push. Percy stared with morbid fascination as his child started to come out…Down there. He blanched as the older man told him to come help.
"I…" He trailed off, not knowing how admit he was scared. What if he screwed something up? He did that a lot.
"It's okay." Chiron said with a soft smile, motioning for him to cut the umbilical cord. He did as he was supposed to and took the baby from the older man.
A daughter of Apollo came in and cleaned the baby, then handed to Annabeth as she left the room quietly.
Smiling, Percy looked down at his child. It was a girl, with his hair and Annabeth's eyes. Percy sat on the uncomfortable chair next to Annabeth's bedside holding her hand. He pushed the hair out of her face and smiled at the gentle look in her eyes.
"I love you." He murmured quietly to both Annabeth and his little girl.
He grinned as she said the same.
"What should we name her?" Annabeth asked quietly, not wanting to disrupt the peaceful slumber their child had fallen into.
Percy looked down at the baby in Annabeth's arms, both Annabeth and her curled up on his chest. "I like Scarlet." He whispered, matching her quiet tone.
She smiled and replied, "What about Scarlet Bianca?"
"It's perfect." He hummed and kissed each of their foreheads, stopping to give Annabeth a kiss on the lips.
Chiron quietly walked into the room and stopped at the scene that was before him. He smiled at the perfect moment the family shared.
Percy was now sitting on the small bed, legs stretched out, albeit slightly cramped. Annabeth was curled into his side, her head lolled against her husband's shoulder. Percy had laid his head to rest on Annabeth's. Scarlet lay asleep in her mother's arms, oblivious to the world around her.
Chiron now wished he knew how to use a camera.
