AN: Well who would have thought that I would write another story so quickly. Hopefully this one is a bit better then my first, but it is a bit shorter. Thanks to my wonderful beta free . song .(when I tried to put her name in it wouldn't save it so it is spaced weirdly sorry) Without her my story would have not have been published!
Who would have thought that he, Jim Kirk, would now be captain of the Enterprise? Especially after he would have probably been suspended for cheating. Imagine if Bones hadn't snuck him aboard, where would they all be right now? As Jim is walking down the halls of the academy going towards his room, he's too deep in thought to notice that he isn't paying attention until he runs right into Bones.
"Sorry."
"Sorry" They both say at the same time, neither of them realizing who they had run into.
"Jim, I was looking for you. I tried to catch you after the ceremony but you just disappeared," Bones says to him while just looking at him.
"I just had to get out of there, too many different thought were running through my head and I needed to clear them out. I decided to come here and try to relax, think, and get my head on straight," Jim answers.
"You need someone to help you talk it out?" Bones asks.
"No, but I wouldn't mind some company from my best friend." Jim says, looking at Bones with his "puppy-dog" eyes.
Bones just shakes his head and throws his arm around Jim's shoulders and says,
"You know kid, I don't think there is any other place I would be right now."
Jim just smiles and throws his arm around Bones' shoulders, giving him a hug while saying, "You know Bones, I cant even imagine what would have happened if you hadn't snuck me aboard. Everyone would probably have been killed and there would be nothing left. I…" Jim stops talking and just stands there hugging Bones with everything he has in him, trying to keep his emotions in check.
"Damn it Jim, I'm not a fluffy stuffed animal that you can hug to death here," Bones says in his gruff voice. But Jim can hear all the emotion behind that one sentence and can feel Bones hug him just a bit harder too.
"I know; I'll stop. But not yet, I need this and I think that you do too. I promise that I won't tell if you wont."
Bones just looks at Jim and pulls him a bit closer, hugging him back just as fiercely as Jim is hugging him.
"Jim, I'm really glad that you're my best friend, but if you ever tell anyone that I actually said that, I'll give you so many hypos that you won't know what hit you!"
Jim just laughs and continues down to his room, pulling Bones along with him.
"Ok, so lets go change and go hit a bar with the crew. I think that would be a perfect end to the day!"
"Yeah, sounds like a good plan."
As they are getting ready to go, Jim just putting on his jacket and waiting for Bones to finish up, he thinks to himself… Yeah I'm glad that Bones is my best friend, after all where would we be without that friendship?
AN2.0: I had to put in the "Damn it Jim" because all I could hear as I typed that line was Bones' voice and wow did it really sound like him, also the reason it is bolded as well!
