Disclaimers: Alas poor Yorick, I knew him well. (He said he owned Gundam Wing and the lawyers got him.) Whether 'tis nobler to pretend I own Gundam Wing or just admit that I don't.

AN: Just so everyone knows, this has a lot to do with the Catholic faith so if this offends you please don't read.

The cold December wind did not seem harsh at all to him, nor did it seem to bother the many other people who had taken their celebration of peace and Christmas outside. Peace, the end of it all. There was no more war, no more fighting; he would not be needed anymore. Heero snickered as he strolled out of the hospital unnoticed. It was amazing, after all his injuries, and the doctors orders that he had to stay for overnight observations, he didn't even have to sneak out. He'd have to thank Relena for that. She obviously had something to do with it. That girl, or she was more of a lady, was well amazing.

He continued away and to anywhere his feet would carry him.  He felt no pain from the war he had just won; it was like his whole body had gone numb, yet, still feeling.  That was how it was during the wars, when he was nothing more than a soldier, a mere machine given orders to be carried out. No one cared about him the person, only him the soldier, and in return he had no one to care about. His lot in life was follow orders, survive when necessary, and make sure that no one that wasn't fighting died without cause. That's how it was for so long. Relena.  His mind screamed her name, and her image filled his sight. She changed everything for him. She gave him a purpose, and, as she once told him, he gave her a purpose as well.

Relena had said that before she met him all her life was, was 'be a good little girl, do what everyone wants you too, live the way some one of your status is intend to live. Be shallow and petty, other people are not important unless they can give you something in return.' It was just as empty as his own until she met him. Then, as Relena had put it, "You came into my life, and I saw someone that didn't have anyone. Someone who needed that 'anyone' more desperately than any other soul. So, I wanted to be that 'anyone.' Maybe to help myself learn that there is more to life than what I was always told there was, but maybe, to show you that you were so much more than you thought you were."

When Relena had told him, she had sounded part sorrowful, part hopeful, then another part, cynical. Only Relena could be all at the same time. She always a little bit everything. Savior and annoyance, teacher and student, angel yet human. Yes, he thought of her as an angel. His little guardian angel, she was always floating somewhere close behind, waiting to help him.

Oh, Relena was definitely something above human existence. That woman had the courage of the toughest warriors all combined (including himself and the other pilots), determination that put so many other's to shame, and a heart the rivaled God's. She had to be an angel. Only one of God's special forces could love every human on earth, forgive them for anything, and then ask for nothing in return. It was evident enough that she loved even Heero, and he was positive that she would most probably forgive her murderer. Relena Peacecraft was most definitely and angel, her only humanity in her lack of wings and halo.

It was no wonder his feet had taken him to her mansion, after all, his mind had wandered to the same place. Heero climbed the fence that surrounded her massive estate, which he knew she wanted to get rid of. Then he scaled the wall to her balcony. Pulling himself up, Heero sat on the balcony edge before entering Relena's room. He wasn't surprised that the doors were unlocked; she was both trusting and fearless. He padded silently over to her bed, where he found her sleeping. She always worked so hard that as soon she hit the bed she fell deep into a dream land. This was why Heero could creep into her room unnoticed.

Kneeling by her bed side, he laid his head next to hers and closed his eyes. "I will miss you Relena. Do not forget me," Heero whispered gently. Then removing his head, he walked out of the room.

The empty apartment left much to be desired. It had nothing save for a chair and table, and bed in the room beyond. Heero entered the room with his bed and fell upon it. His eyes drifted shut and he fell into a sleep devoid of everything save for the fleeting images of his angel.

Half an hour Heero woke up and looked about his sparse room. The only decorations were newspaper clippings of Relena. He smirked, she, of course would be the only reason he would regret his decision.

The perfect soldier stood up and picked up one of the numerous guns that littered his apartment. The worn, cold metal felt heavy in his hand but Heero shrugged it off. There was no turning back. He placed the gun to his temple and closed his eyes. "Goodbye Relena," he called to the emptiness, and squeezed the trigger.

The sickening sound of bone cracking was heard by no one, and the blood that trickled from his skull went unnoticed. Everything seemed frozen as it was. Heero Yuy, lay dead on the floor.
