Visitors on my Birthday
Disclaimer: I do not own Jareth the Goblin King, Sarah Williams or the Labyrinth
I was working on my birthday dinner, for my girls and me. When two visitors appeared in my living room, they were none other than Jareth the Goblin King and Sarah the Goblin Queen.
I was astonished at who had come to visit me on my birthday, in my humble home. They were both dressed in jeans and sweaters, so they would not look out of place in my home.
They both wished me Happy Birthday, and thanked me for believing in the magic of the Labyrinth. It was this belief that kept the Labyrinth alive, and not dying, because of the lack of the belief in magic in the world.
They gave me a card, and a crystal so I could look at the Labyrinth whenever I wanted too. On this card, it said:
Birthdays come and go. Some are sad, while others are bad. Sometimes it can very happy. Other times it can be like another day, not important at all. Once a year friends, and loved ones are near. To celebrate the day of your birth, So hip, hip, hooray what a wonderful day, To turn fifty years old on this day, Which is to say half a century old? Every year we get older, but we also get wiser. Along the way, through ashes, and thorns, Through these experiences, we are better for this. A year older, but a year better. Happy Birthday to you, and I hope you have a good year. May this year bring you joy, and happiness? For the best is yet to come. Half a century is just half a lifetime.
They both said goodbye after I thanked them for the gift, then they left in a blur of glitter. Leaving me thinking, that things are not always, what they seem to be!
