Marie's POV:
I watched him walk down the hall and into his Calculus class. I have always had a thing for Double D, but I usually just chase after him, trying to make him love me. I've never just watched him. The way he walked, the way his face lit up when he opens a new pack of pencils, I just never slowed down enough to watch; to learn.
"Yo! Marie!" I turned my head to see Lee, my older (but not by much) sister. "You can't afford anymore absents this quarter!" She snickered, "So stop drooling and GET TO CLASS!"
"Whatever…" I mumbled as I walked in the opposite direction to History class. I wiped my lip just to make sure I wasn't actually drooling. I was on time for once which shocked my teacher. I like learning (don't tell my sisters though) it's just that I'm too lazy to go to class. I'm am usually assumed as dumb because of my sisters, but in all reality I have more brains than half the dimwits in my school.
I sat in my seat and listened to the teacher babble on about something I already knew all about. I kept thinking about Double D. I've come to the conclusion that I'm not going to chase after him…as much. I want to learn about him more. What's favorite food, favorite color, does he like dogs or cats more. I want to know. I want him to give me a chance to know. I swear, if my sisters got into my brain, I would never live it down.
After History class, Lee and May told me that they were going to leave. I had to stay because I couldn't miss class anymore this quarter. I kinda didn't want to leave either. I had business to take care of.
I went to ALL of my classes and was on time for every single one of them. I even learned that the school had an art room. I don't take art, even though I wish I did, but that room was amazing. I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time in that room.
After the last bell, I left my class and walked to my locker. As I was walking I saw Double D, he was balancing an arm load of books and papers and pencils. Then some ass stuck his leg out and tripped him. He fell, dropping everything that he was carrying. Papers and pencils and books scattered and slid down the hallway.
I scurried over, picking up pens and pieces of paper as I went. When I got there Double D looked up when he saw my feet, "Marie please-"
"Hush" I said gently and handed his things that I had picked up. "HEY!" I yelled at the guy who tripped Double D.
He turned away from his posse and looked at me. He gave me such a degrading look. "What, Blue, what do you want?" I crossed my arms. "Oh, I get it, you're here defending this little nerd, how cute."
"Look, don't piss me off, dipshit, I could mess you the fuck up." I growled
"Ooh, I'm sooo scared." He said sarcasm dripping from every word.
I walked up to him, we were about a foot apart. "You better be." I glared up at him. I swung at him but he caught my fist.
"Aww look at her, trying to punch me," he turned his head to his friends and laughed. He turned back to face me, "you can't even reach my face."
My anger was boiling over. "Aww, you're right," I kicked him in the shin. He let go of my hand and grabbed his leg. "That's better" then I punched him square in the jaw. "Now say sorry."
He looked at me, "Okay, so you got a lucky shot," he said straightening his posture. "We've had our fun-"
I kneed him in the crotch, he doubled over in pain. "I said, say sorry." I growled through grit teeth.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry" he said wincing.
"Good, and if you EVER fucking mess with him again, you'll have to deal with Marie." I pointed myself. I made sure it was well known that it wouldn't be good for their health if they messed with Double D. His friends just stood there gawking at the scene that just unraveled. I shot them a death glare and they all ran down the hall, occasionally tripping and stumbling.
I took a deep breath then turned to Double D who was staring at me with wide eyes. I looked down at my feet and saw a pen. I bent down and picked it up then handed it to him. He cautiously stuck his hand out and took the pen from me. "Thank you, Marie." He said this with a small smile.
Boy did I just want to bend down and kiss him, but I didn't, I smiled and said a simple, "You're welcome." I walked toward him and he flinched a little but I ignored it because I walked right past him. I didn't look back, I walked down a different hallway, and out of the building.
The whole way home, I kept saying to myself: Patience let him come to you, he will come to you, Patience, let him come to you, and he will come to you.
Thanks for reading everyone! Reviews are very much welcomed. And sadly, I do NOT own Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy (or any of its characters)
