A/N: I wrote this right after the NCIS:LA Season Finale. I felt so bad for poor Callen. I was crying so much. He deserves a nice family life, with someone who loves him. I Know it's short, but I hope it conveys what I wanted it to. Enjoy!
There was only one light on when Kenzi went downstairs. The lamp over Callen's desk was illuminating his drawn face. Kenzi knew this had been a tough day on him. She walked over,
"Hey, you okay?" At the sound of her voice, Callen looked up. His eyes were rimmed in red and there were damp trails down his cheeks.
"I had a sister, Kenz. I wasn't always on my own." His voice cracked at the end. Kenzi bit back her own tears. She pulled the chair from her desk over and sat next to Callen. His desk was littered with the pictures and documents from Amy Taylor's box.
"Callen, you can't stay here alone." Callen looked at her with hurt eyes.
"She called me 'baby brother'. I don't have a name. Baby brother, that's my name." He threw all the photos and papers back into the box. Kenzi pulled his hands off the paper,
"Callen, stop. You're going to ruin the papers. Please, just come with me." Callen sunk back into the chair, as if all the fight had left him,
"Sure, yeah, I'll come." Kenzi pulled him up and Callen shouldered his bag. They walked out to Kenzi's car silently. Callen threw his bag in the trunk and went to climb in the front seat, only to find Kenzi already sitting there. Callen cracked a tiny smile,
"Hey, I don't get to drive?" Kenzi laughed,
"No sorry, my car, my drivers' seat." Callen walked around the car saying,
"Fair enough." Callen climbed into the passenger seat and rested his arm on the console in between them. Kenzi pulled out of the parking lot and they sat silently. Callen sighed and Kenzi looked over at him. His face was pale and he seemed distracted. Kenzi slid her hand into his. When Callen looked up, she said,
"You are never on your own."
