Ringing
His eyes snapped open quickly as the gunshots tore through the air, the noise making his ears hurt. The bright lights that hung down from the ceiling burned his eyes painfully. He breathed in and breathed out. More pain shot up his chest. He flinched, a cry threatening to tear out of his throat. He swallowed it back down the best he could and sat up, white hot pain making his head burn. The gunshots continued and Roxas could barely hear them anymore. Something thick, wet and sticky ran down his arm and his head. Blood.
Roxas breathed in and breathed out heavily, flinching. He had a broken rib alright. More than one? He wasn't really sure. He fumbled his hand around on the ground for his gun, picking it up and reloading it carefully. The walls of the hotel were stained with red blood, the floors holding puddles of it. Dead bodies were scattered around him and the heavy smell of smoke burned his lungs. The gunshots stopped. Roxas flipped around the corner and pulled the trigger, shooting bullets into their heads as quickly as he could. "Roxas!" The boy's eyes widened slightly, his breathing itching for a quick three seconds. Sora.
He ran quickly down the hall, jumping over bodies in his way. His body cried out for him to stop, to just end it then and there. But he carried on anyway. For Sora. "Roxas!" He called out again. It was another voice this time. Ven. He ran faster, his lungs burning, his body screaming loudly in pain. He breezed down the stairs, jumping when he had too. There were more gunshots behind him now, bullets whizzing past him left and right. He was so close now, he could see the exit. "Roxas!" He breathed in and out. "Roxas!" In and out. Pain, pain all over.
"Roxas!" Just a little more. His feet pounded on the ground loudly, thumping madly as he ran. His vision blurred. "Roxas!"
"Sora! Ventus!" Roxas felt their names rip from his throat painfully, the last of his air escaping his lungs. He collapsed on the ground with a loud thump, his vision going black just as his head hit the floor.
