This is purely a spin off myth of the ancient Greek gods. It was made for my Astronomy project, but when my some friends thought it would be suitable to put up on my fan fiction account and so here it is, refreshed from my new writing journal. Yes, there will be some inaccuracy with some of the gods/goddesses but this is what we call fan fiction and I'm not a real Greek mythologist so spare me. I do not own any of these characters except Akemi and her constellation -. Yay for her! And onto the story
Akemi: the Cherry Blossom Constellation
Akemi was born to a peasant family. Even though she was from a low class family, her beauty was extravagant as Aphrodite and Hera. Unlike both goddesses, she was modest about her beauty, quiet, and a hopeless romantic. This personality was developed from being raised in a humble lifestyle.
Since her family were farmers and lived far from the town square, she developed the hobby of growing gardens on the land. Soon her flowers, which were sold in the markets by her father when he went into town to sell his crops, became well known. The townspeople wanted to meet the anonymous gardener. The father sought this opportunity to find her a husband and hopefully raise a family better than in their poor lifestyle.
When Akemi was escorted into town with her father, she was surrounded by many of her admirers of her flowers, all agreeing that she was very beautiful. While in town she met the handsome war god, Area, who she spent the whole time with during her stay. From then on, whenever she visit's the town (which became a habit of hers), she would meet Ares. The more she made her visits, the more she became famous.
Apollo, the sun god soon saw the town. He instantly fell for her beauty. He asked Zeus, his father's blessing to marry a mortal, even though his father's wishes was he would marry a goddess. But after Zeus saw Akemi from the Earth, his approved of his son's request.
One day, Apollo visited Akemi's house to visit her father while Akemi was in the market to agree on his engagement. Akemi's father found Apollo a more suitable husband than Ares, and agreed he would help Apollo make Akemi his bride. He told Apollo she would meet him at the city's garden on the bridge later tonight when she gets back from the market.
Later that night with Akemi meet Apollo that night and he proposed to her on a bended knee; Akemi declined. She proclaimed her love for Ares and did not wish to obey her father's wishes since she found his reasons for her to marry Apollo unnecessary and he lusted for glory in a high place near the sun.
Apollo did not show his anger toward Akemi, but expected it angrily when he told his father what happened. Both of them schemed a way to have Apollo win Akemi's hand in marriage. In the dark misty night, they kidnapped and chided Ares, and threw him in the sky as the constellation Scorpio.
Akemi ran way from home when she heard the conspiracy and incident that happened to Ares. She traveled so far, it was beyond the borders of the places she knew. Tired and heartbroken, she fell on a blanket of cherry blossoms near it's tree.
Artemis, Apollo's kind twin sister looked on pity upon the heartbroken maiden and descended onto Earth to help her. Akemi requested to join her dearly beloved in the sky so they would live forever as they unrequited love. Artemis was touched by Akemi's deep affinity for another, for she felt the same betrayal of her brother when she fell in love with Orion. She granted Akemi's wish, who is now the cherry blossom constellation, next to the constellation Scorpio.
