"Dog-breath" Mabel whispered as she glanced across the room where her brother Dipper was talking to, or rather, making googly-eyes at Wendy, the ginger slacker her uncle was too cheap to fire. Dipper was supposed to come with her to town to try the new ice cream flavor at the ice cream shop but nooooo, Wendy had to come first. Mabel glanced back and stuck her tongue out.
Dipper was supposed to make those googly-eyes at her and not stupid Wendy! Dipper was supposed to not like Wendy at all!
Dipper…was supposed to be hers…
But he wasn't.
She rolled her eyes as Wendy laughed that lazy laugh of hers.
She knew it wasn't fair to hate Wendy, she didn't do anything to her but…she was unable to feel any hatred towards her brother. Her brother whom she realized she had intimate feelings when they were just nine years old. Wendy however, she could hate. And she did, though she did try liking her.
But she knew. Mabel knew that Wendy knew of Dipper's little crush on her. She knew how she ignored it since all he was just a little kid to her and it absolutely infuriated her.
But she can't do anything about it.
She glanced at the two laughing idiots again before exiting the Shack, they didn't need her. They had each other.
She sighed as she sat down on the front steps and sucked on a butterscotch lollipop that she kept in her pocket. Butterscotch never failed to cheer her up when she was down. Butterscotch…never...failed, so why were tears streaming down her face? She can be so melodramatic sometimes.
She started as she heard the door open.
"What's up?" Dipper gently asked as he sat down next to her.
"Nothing" Mabel mumbled as she hurriedly wiped away her tears.
"What's with the butterscotch then?"
"I'm just craving, you know, my time of the month."
Mabel risked a glance just in time to see Dipper roll his eyes.
"Whatever it is, you know I'm always here for you right?" Dipper smiled as he held her close.
"Always?" Mabel asked tentatively.
"Always"
Mabel knew that it wasn't true. That there would be a time where he would not be there, but right now she didn't care.
She only cared about the arm around her and her brother beside her.
