Ran yawned, set down his playstation controller and picked up the ringing phone. It was Youji who had called to ask Ran about going to the playground with him and the other guys. Ran simply hung up and picked his controller back up. The phone range again and Ran answered again.
"Aya! Don't have up on me!" Youji warned. "Why not? I have better things to do than talk to you Youji." Ran mumbled. "Because I am older than you! I am 7 years old and you are only 6!" Youji said proudly.
As Youji went on about how much greater he is, Ran quits his game, put the playstation away, then took the phone and threw it in the toilet.
Ahhh! What is that?" Youji shrieked as he heard the sound of the water from the toilet flushing. Suddenly, the door flew open and a brown-headed boy came running though chasing his soccer ball "Youji, is Aya coming?" Ken asked with a big smile. "Yes.. or as least I think so." Youji answered and hung up the phone. "I'll go get Omi then!" Ken said then ran out the door, kicking his soccer ball.
Later at the playground, Youji, Ken, and Omi had grouped up and where sitting on the swings, their normal meeting place. "Where is Aya?" Omi asked as he looked around, picking out the read headed kids. "Look! There he is!" Ken shouted and pointed.
Ran was helping his mother push the baby buggy with his little sister, Aya- chan, sleeping soundly inside, mother doing most of the work. They walked on but, as they passed a few boys playing ball, the ball few and almost hit Aya-chan. Ran grabbed the ball, threw it as far as he could the other way, then yelled profanities at the boys.
"RAN FUJIMIYA! NO YELLING PROFANITIES!" their mother growled as she smacked Ran's hand.
Ran then apologized to her then left to join the other boys at the swings.
