Light Yagami got caught up in a game of pride – his character was Kira.
Kira was willing to use every dirty trick he knew to win.
Light wanted to rid the world of evil.
There was one person standing in the way of both goals – L. He needed to be eliminated.
So that's what was done.
But as L began to fall from his chair, heart attack sending him to death, Light was torn in two.
Kira wanted to laugh because he had won, but couldn't because of the task force members around him.
Light threw himself to the ground breaking L's fall.
Kira smirked triumphantly down at the dieing detective.
Light screamed in agony.
Light/Kira didn't win the game in the end though. L had a trick up his sleeve, a hidden ace. He had two successors who would bring down his one time friend.
Light/Kira lost.
L won.
