"I hate men…" Alex thought to herself as she recalled the fight she had just witnessed at work. All she wanted to do was relax, and go to sleep. Maybe for days. She turned on the water in the large Jacuzzi tub and ran her hand under it to adjust the temperature. No one was home; Marissa was at another "so-called-important" meeting with her mom, so Alex had the apartment all to herself. She turned on the radio and pressed the little button for the bubbles to turn on. She pulled her shirt off and removed her apron and skirt. When she was completely undressed she slipped into the tub ready to relax and forget about all the problems in the world. Work had become so stressful lately, her parents wanted her to come home, Seth wouldn't leave her alone, and Ryan was always trying to split her and Marissa up. But after last night, maybe Ryan wouldn't have to. She cringed at the thought. She didn't want to lose Marissa. She wanted to wrap her arms around the beautiful girls waist and never let her go. But she couldn't right now. She just thought.
The memory wouldn't go away. The fight they had the night before was stupid, all the yelling and crying…it wasn't worth it. She knew Marissa didn't like Ryan, and Marissa knew that Jodie was gone; it was just one of those normal couple fights - right? She grabbed her cell phone and dialed Marissa's number. Riiing...Riiing...Riiing... "Why won't she answer?" Alex thought. "Hey this is Marissa, I either can't get to my phone, or don't want to. If this is Alex, don't bother calling back..." Tears swelled in Alex's eyes, it felt like her heart collapsed and suddenly she felt dizzy. She had no idea what to do next.
